A Football Life Terry Bradshaw

Terry Paxton Bradshaw (born September 2, 1948) is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League (NFL). Since 1994, he has been a television sports analyst and co-host of Fox NFL Sunday. Bradshaw is also an actor and recording artist, having participated in several television shows (mainly as himself) and films, most notably co-starring in the movie Failure to Launch, and releasing several country music albums. He played for 14 seasons with Pittsburgh, won four Super Bowl titles in a six-year period (1974, 1975, 1978, and 1979), becoming the first quarterback to win three and four Super Bowls, and led the Steelers to eight AFC Central championships. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1989, his first year of eligibility. Bradshaw was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1996.

Bradshaw is known as a tough competitor and for having one of the most powerful arms in NFL history. His physical skills and on-the-field leadership played a major role in the Steelers' dynasty throughout the 1970s. During his career, he passed for more than 300 yards in a game seven times, but three of those performances came in the postseason (two of which were in Super Bowls). In four career Super Bowl appearances, he passed for 932 yards and 9 touchdowns, both Super Bowl records at the time of his retirement. In 19 career postseason games, he completed 261 passes for 3,833 yards.

My father sat next to Mr. Bradshaw on a 3 hour flight over 25 years ago. He said that he was sitting in his seat and Terry came onboard and sat next to him and looked over at my Dad and said “ hey, you look familiar, do I know you from somewhere “? Lol. My Dad always loved to tell that little story. He said that you couldn’t have met a nicer guy. 👍👍

Terry was fantastic to watch. What a great team the Steelers had then.
  • When i was a kid growing up in the 70s .The Steelers and Bradshaw were it

Terry is the most under rated player in NFL history. He was 51st on the NFL 100 greatest players. On the 100th anniversary team he was left off. Roger Staubach made it. Terry beat him ever time they played. Terry was MVP of the Super Bowl over him. He was MVP of the League over him. I think during his years in the media he pissed a lot of the selectors off.
  • we love you terry! how can you not love this guy? unless you are a raiders fan

I watched the Steelers as young kid and must say that Bradshaw is the man. One of the best of all time. Thanks for beating the cowboys. I’m a Texas boy but love them Steelers.

Remember when they interviewed his first wife before one of the Super Bowls. It was pretty sweet. But he broke my heart every time Vikings lost. Lol

As a kid I hated Bradshaw for beating my Cowboys in the 1979 Super Bowl. He broke my heart. However I learned to love Terry and his shenanigans. I also learned to appreciate his football contributions. The man was a big game clutch quarterback.

Terry, watched you in the 70's and want to thank you and the team for giving me and my family the opportunity to see the BEST football ever played. God bless you and your family. Much, much love from a gal born and raised in Pittsburgh...this is my home and yes, it's yours too! 🥰🤗❤ We love you, Terry.

This Pittsburgh kid's boyhood hero. Love this!

Does not get enough credit for how good he was. They beat the crap out of the qbs in that era. Rules to open up the passing game never came around till 1978...when they did he was nfl mvp in 1978.maybe the best big game qb ever. His name should be right up there with any qb that ever played.
  • I'm live long Dallas Cowboys fan. But I'm a big Terry Bradshaw fan...he's one of the best quarterback and person ever....!

When being quarterback meant you had to be a tough SOB. Great guy who I love and is an inspiration to many.
  • @pete1445
Hollywood Henderson probably cost Dallas the superbowl from his rude and disrespectful comments about Bradshaw! lol So glad the Steelers won! Favorite team of all time! All their players were just fantastic. Terry Bradshaw my favorite quarterback! Happy I grew up during that era!
  • What I appreciate about Terry so much is that he is a thinking, feeling person with deep personal convictions, and accepts who he is, he has certainly paid a price for it, as you do in this world no matter who you are and how you are, someone is always going to criticize. He is a good and decent person and a very bright light in this world.
  • As a cowboy fan for many years . I love Terry he is awesome with a capital A.
