About The Route and Film:
This 871-mile route will take riders to iconic places like Valley of the Gods, Moab, the Abajo and La Sal mountains, Onion Creek, 9 Mile Canyon and the Wasatch Mountains. Utah is unpredictable with mud that is impassable when wet. Deep sand also challenges riders in places, and a few expert-only options provide excitement for those who seek adrenaline.

About Backcountry Discovery Routes:
Backcountry Discovery Routes® (BDR®) is a non-profit organization that creates off-highway routes for dual-sport and adventure motorcycle travel. We have introduced a new route with free GPS tracks for the community every year since 2010.

Routes can be downloaded from our website at www.ridebdr.com

Our work includes rider education, safety campaigns and promoting responsible travel for motorcyclists traveling in the backcountry.

Our volunteer-powered organization works with agencies and land managers to keep trails and remote roads open for motorcycling.

Each route generates new tourism that delivers sustainable economic relief to less-advantaged rural communities. This creates local stakeholders who will help fight to keep access for dual-sport and adventure motorcycles in these incredible backcountry areas.

The music was a bit grim, but the scenery is awesome. Looked like a blast. Thanks for making these available to the public. You guys are legends for this!
  • I am so appreciative for the routes made by the BDR guys. I combined the UTBDR and the COBDR and it was the best ride of my life. I haven't done any other BDRs but I plan to do both of these ones again. Love to do them all of course.
  • @Dom-nt4gn
Thank you for all your hard work making this stuff!
  • @Knightnote
Wow! Thank you for giving honest advice about conditions under weather!
  • @MeerkatADV
I know this was only the second one of these done, but it would have been nice not to have 60% of the film focused on the first two sections. The rest of the UTBDR deserves just as much coverage.

I’ve watched all these videos multiple times. Cannot get enough and can’t wait to take my 890 ADV on them!!! Thank you for all the work on these projects!

Great video, Utah is a beautiful and diverse state for sure. At around 50 minutes on the cold morning , I thought I heard the guy say he heard the fire still crackling and burning from the night before. With all the wildfires we have had in the West please use prudence and extinguish fires when turning in for the night. Prevention and setting a good example is paramount. Best!

Love the mission and work you all do. Personally I would love to hear a little less music and more engine nose in future videos.

this is really great, I enjoy driving my RV to S. Utah and riding my dirt bike around, nothing too extreme. I've been down some of these roads, but this has shown me some new ones I will definitely try!
  • FWIW I did the UTBDR border to border in 3 days 9 hours 21 min with my dad. We were both on 690s and camped each night. We intentionally went fast but not totally crazy. We were setting up camp in sunlight still. But on 690s we were much faster than these guys. I also think they bring way too much stuff. But whatever, all I’m trying to say is that you don’t need 10 days if you don’t have that much PTO saved up.

Utah looks awesome, this video or the footage at least is more than 10 years old. Loved watching it and it gave me flashbacks on the bikes and luggage set ups. Cool production with this in mind and the presentstion of the riders was nice. Bet these veterans are still in the game 😁.
  • Thank you for making these videos. I feel like there is a lot of hate in the comments, I don’t get it. I think they’re great videos. Fun looking adventures, keep doing them! I have been enjoying the series while I’ve been stuck at home sick with Covid.
  • "871 miles, almost entirely offroad, traveling on roads that take you back in time…" Perpetuating the mystery and drama of the "what is the definition of "offroad" argument! 🙂
  • Another awesome route. A bit over kill on the slow motion stuff. Liked the previous movies film style better, and 480p? Come on.
  • Nice vid of Utah. The south gets much more attention when it comes to offroading, but Northern Utah is excellent in more ways than just snow skiing. Utah does not get a lot of rain; you caught an off week for the weather, it looks like. Thank you for the good work.
  • Looks like it would be a lot more fun on light weight dual sports.
