Minecraft has a ton of hidden references and easter eggs just waiting to be discovered. This is the history of the game's various secrets that I guarantee you didn't know. Part 1 of this video was almost 3 years ago soooo I think it's fine to release a sequel (with a few callback music tracks to the original :))

This is a series called Minecraft VVSauce where I explore random features of Minecraft. Not Secret Minecraft things or Minecraft lore (like Game Theory) or Escape Rooms, but a research based series dedicated to over-answering questions you never asked.

Awesome video! Only Minecraft, the game that has been around for more than a decade now, could have THIS many easter eggs.

My favorite from my childhood is the “removed Herobrine” in almost every update list
  • The Steve Co. Supply Crate is a Team Fortress 2 reference, along with many of the other items in the store. Valve also gave Notch a special Minecraft hat to wear in that game

Fun fact: The Killer Bunny is a clear reference to the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail, a ridiculously stupid but absolutely brilliant comedy movie from the 70s. In some part of the story they find the Killer Rabbit, an apparently innocent small white bunny surrounded by corpses that kills anyone who dares to enter his territory. You guys might know this movie from the iconic scene where the Black Knight has both of his arms cut off but still insists it was nothing, saying the so well known sentence "Tis but a scratch!", or from the famous Knights Who Say Ni.
  • Once I did a raid and afterwards the mobs found a way into my UNDERGROUND sheep farm and made my blue sheep red. Also I like your content.

2:14 This entire page and the locked chest itself are a reference to Team Fortress 2. The game itself has a Mann Co Supply Crate and can only be opened with the Mann Co Supply Crate Key. It even uses Team Fortress 2's font for everything on the page.

I didn't know they added tributes to Technoblade. Been rewatching his videos recently so that's a nice touch 🐷

The chiseled stone bricks supposedly represents the Eye of Ender.

Honestly Wifies, ur becoming one of my favorites. I immediately watch all of your videos after I see them. You’re really in depth, comedic, and ur voice is honestly soothing.

For those confused in the witty comments section: the witty comment "I just dont know what went wrong :(" is a reference to the first dialogue spoken by the fan favorite background pony "derpy hooves" in season 2 episode 14 "the last roundup" of my little pony friendship is magic. It was apparently a quite memorable segment for the fandom back in the day because the line immediately following it referenced derpy not by her official internal hasbro name, but as "derpy hooves" the fan name, and it was one of the first major times the showrunners "tipped their hat" to the online community. I myself was a little curious and decided to dig this up, hope folks find it interesting.
  • Listening with headphones on unusually high volume, that herobrine jumpscare really got me 💀

5:30 the tower of pimps is a reference to a youtube minecraft series by the channel rooster teeth In one episode they discover a desert temple and build the tower of pimps with their gold.

Actually, players named Notch dropping an apple was a reference to a crafting list a friend of mine made waaaay back, where as a joke they said that you could craft a golden apple (which did not exist yet) using 8 gold ingots and an apple. As apples were not at that point accessible in normal gameplay, they also joked that you could get an apple by killing Notch. (Said friend also made one of the earliest mods for Minecraft back in Classic, some powerful third-party server software)

just commenting this here in case Wifies (or anybody else) is curious: I believe the 'we apologise for the inconvenience' message in fire from the infinite snapshot is a reference to the 4th book in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series, where that exact message is written in fire at the top of a mountain as God's final message to His Creation
  • @The-tv3ht
I really like this video, its compact and very entertaining
  • "Ask for help on Twitter" "Um i think YoU tEcHnAlLy MeAn 'X!." 😂
  • @Sacsofon
13:01 “Everithing was fine until the fire nation attacked”
  • I haven't finished the video, but i found an Easter egg in this video. Around 2:40, Wifies says "the cake is a lie", a reference to another video(I believe it was about the nether's skeletons relation to the wither). In the intro, he says "hmmm, who should I copy today?" while spinning a wheel with the names of different content creators on it. The wheel lands on Game Theory, a channel owned by Mat Pat. As his fans would know, this channel is connected to the other ones that he owns, including Food Theory. One of the channel's first uploads was a video called "Cake is a Lie?". But this is just my theory, feel free to critique it
  • i find it funny how multiple updates had "removed herobine" in the changelog as if he kept returning and the devs had to defeat him on multiple occaisions
