"You really look like spiderman, or at least someone who ate spiderman" - Magnus. Magnus is a savage damn
  • @Faxter313
"Go straight up - hold that rock" has to be the best climbing advice possible.

as a roofer that used to be 130 kgs, the whole ¨i am scared of equipment failure¨ part resonated hard with me. Good job Eddie
  • Eddie shouldn’t be a good climber at his size but he’s still better than most people, very impressive and such a kind person.

Magnus looked like a bond villain, peering over the edge, chuckling at the struggle 😂
  • @Alrobye760

Watching this video is a 100% role reversal for Magnus. Previously we had Alex during the free solo video was like " yo this is super chill I'm climbing and filming" while magnus has a bit of nerves.....meanwhile here we have magnus climbing with approach shoes and chilling at the top yelling down to Eddie "Just follow the chalk, its easy!" lol. Please keep this series going. Eddie is a god damn gem and has great climbing spirit.

165 kg Eddie doing that route is legit amazing. Dude has balls and fighting spirit.
  • @MatsNorway
How do you find Magnus? - Easy, just follow the chalk

Eddie: "What I'm worried about is equipment failure" This is a very common and valid concern when beginning to learn the climbing basics. Even after 30+ years of climbing, I was still concerned about equipment failure, especially when on the sharp end on a trad route. Advice to Magnus: Before taking any beginner off the ground on a rope, give them an in-service on the equipment, it's design, strength, purpose, and function. Teach them the proper commands, ie; "belay on?", "climbing", "tension", "slack" "off belay", etc. Have them tie in, climb up a meter or so off the ground, and have them sit back in their harness to demonstrate it's strength/ability to hold/protect them while they are still close to the ground and not 10 meters up. Because Eddie weighs twice as much as you do and is INCREDIBLY top heavy, the potential of him flipping upside down is possible/inevitable. Although a chest harness is cumbersome/ inconvenient, you might consider one for Eddie's MONSTER frame. I'm sure Eddie would appreciate the security it provides.
  • Next video: world’s strongest man rips off a chunk of mountain makings a new climbing cave 😂
  • Magnus playing the evil supervillain at the top of the crag while Hulkspider ascends to beat him. Magnus's superpower is making every grade 5x more difficult for his foes while still being able to campus it himself.

Eddie is definitely a demonstration of how the 'mental' aspect of skill/technique/willpower is SO big a factor in successful athletes. He's GOAT in his chosen field of athletic effort AND he can show athletic/mental ability in unrelated athletic fields - the mental skills - not to be underestimated.
  • caught myself smiling the entire video, these two together are just peak content
  • @D4NKN4
why does magnus sound like a daunting father... "just follow the chalk eddie"
