Charlie didn't call her a goofball once. He's absolutely disgusted by her.
  • @moxienoxie
The way she's worrying more about her car than the fact that she just ended 2 peoples lives is absolutely repulsive
  • @mrtunapie6653
This is alarming. Can you imagine people like her working as nurses and techs in hospitals and paramedics?
  • @mrrobel1115
I respect this officer immensely. I feel like he understood how fucking awful she was and never once flipped out because, if he did, she would have the sympathy as a victim and her punishment would likely be reduced as a result. He treaded carefully to make sure she paid the full fucking price.
  • That's not dumb. That's pure EVIL. She doesn't care about anyone but herself.
  • @cjlucas5889
her saying "can you say that as a cop" shows that she has a full understanding of what happened

I feel an inhuman amount of disgust when it comes to drunk drivers. My closest cousin and her best friend were killed 6 years ago due to a drunk driver. RIP Liz 🙏

I served as a juror on an intoxication manslaughter trial in 2007. Not only was the medical examiner’s testimony sobering, the scene photographs were horrific. Every juror was shook. Hearing that someone was killed by a drunk driver is one thing. To hear the grizzly details & see the actual havoc wrought is much more impactful. I firmly believe that every new driver course, defensive driving course, AA meeting, & all DUI probation programs should require a review of such report details & photos.

This isn't (just) stupidity, it's unbridled narcissism.
  • @gaudymade
ive seen people on twitter excusing her behaviour saying her dedication to school was so great that she shouldn't get a sentence because 'we need people that work hard'. I don't know who's dumber.
  • @gittattle
what pisses me off the most is most of the time, the drunk driver has minor injuries, while the family they hit is dead. then they suffer minor repercussions, if any, for the crime they committed absolutely despicable

14 years. That means each life was only worth 7 years. That’s all the judge could come up with?? If the judge had a set of balls: she would have gotten life.
  • @tagena6467
The fact she feels no empathy for killing 2 people and doesn’t bother her at all is very disturbing…
  • Just to remind everyone: the guy who jail broke nintendo switches is basically getting life in prison while someone who took 2 human lives and literally only cares about HER ability to go to school, is getting a reduced penalty of 14 years.
  • @Portlycranium
A drunk killed my brother and my dad in 87 and didn't spend 4 years in prison. I don't know if more years would be better but 4 years was a horrible slap in my face since my life was changed forever. So many lives were changed forever. .......
  • @KeyanRumpel
The fact she has a chance of getting a nursing degree after the absolutely disgusting act she just committed is beyond my understanding
  • @RandomUser8P
The fact that she only got 14 years, and so many people have gotten way worse sentencing for doing far less than negligently murdering 2 people, shows how unapologetically broken our legal system is
  • @birdie6359
One of the most sickening parts of this story is when she was pulled over, one of the victim’s DISMEMBERED LEGS was wedged in the car’s grill…and she had NO reaction to it. That’s one of the most gruesome things I’ve ever heard happen in a drunk-driving accident… *Edit: To the very few people commenting who’re defending her actions, stop…just fucking STOP. I cannot believe some of y’all are actually siding with this killer. I know it’s a sick way to get a shock factor from us, but it literally makes you just as vile and ice-cold as her. Though she was clearly under the influence of something, it doesn’t excuse what she’s done in any single way. She killed 2 innocent people & showed absolutely NO remorse for it. We can only hope she doesn’t do it again when she gets out. Also I found out about the severed leg from Fox News for those who were wondering. Please guys, I’m begging you, don’t drive if you’ve drank or taken any substances. That temporary euphoric high isn’t more important than taking someone else’s life. Get an Uber or taxi—it’s that simple. **2nd Edit: Melgoza was sentenced to a total of 14 years in prison, but under Illinois law, she’s only required to serve about 85% of that sentence; combined w/ credit for time served, she’ll probably get out within the next 11.5 years. I think that’s pretty despicable given that I still don’t believe she’s shown genuine remorse nor really accepted full responsibility for her actions that night. During her sentencing, she reportedly “expressed great remorse” for her actions, but I think she’s more upset at the idea of going to prison than for hitting those two people. I hope she doesn’t get out anytime soon…

The second i heard that she was giggling at the fact that she killed two people drunk driving my mouth literally dropped, that is beyond disgusting I can't believe people like this actually exist.

This was the judges chance to make an example, to prove their that vehicular homicide isn’t a joke. This woman should have got reckless driving, a DUI, and second degree murder. The fact she actively doesn’t care she killed two people shows she was willing to take a human life that night. She decided to drink and drive full knowing she was probably gonna kill someone. She shouldn’t be getting out. This isn’t a case of making a dumb mistake. This woman is malicious and it’s a joke that she got to graduate. At least no hospital can hire her because she has a criminal record.
