that kitten was basically just born a week or three prior, that means that there was a mother cat who fed it but possibly got hit by a car or trapped somewhere & she couldn't return to her kitten. I cannot believe the luck of the crying kitten just when two animal people happen to be walking by...a happy ending for this little homeless one!

At the beginning of June, I lost my 13(?)yo long-haired tortoiseshell. She was a foundling -- she found me. Her owners across the street had adopted a dog, and the two did not get along. She started showing up at my house, I tied a note around her neck, the woman explained, "Harley" just kept coming back and never left. She was the tiniest thing, always looked about six-months old, but she was an incredible huntress. She'd bring back juvenile rats from the alley as a "gift." She didn't have a cat's normal "glide" walking, she "bounced" like she was on springs, and always meowed in cat mom's "talk." I miss her. Now there's only Leo -- who is another foundling.

That is wonderful that they all get along. During the covid lock downs when stories of people being lonely were in the news, we had 3 cats and 2 dogs and never a dull moment. Since we have lost both dogs who were 14 and 15 and one of the cats. Kinda sad and still miss them but the 2 cats we still have give us lots of love. They both come sit on the keyboard and tell me time out dad and pet us.

This cat works very hard, she has 3 jobs, human emotional support cat, dog emotional support cat, cat emotional support cat. Impressive !
