Hello and welcome! I'm Betty Franks, and I create my vision of abstract fields of flowers using acrylic paints and pencils (and other mark-making tools). I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and travel a couple of times a year to Preko, Croatia (where my parents live). I started painting in 2012 and focused on abstract art in the summer of 2015. • I love the freedom you paint with and find all of your pieces beautiful. I’m a color person and watching you create is inspiring!
  • Hi Betty 😊...I painted kind of together with you and I came up with something TOTALLY different, not even close to your paintings...but for the first time, after my little brother passed away last January, it made me to enjoy something (I am severely depressed to the point I cannot deal with everyday tasks). I will post my little chaotic creations on your page, if you don't mind it, tomorrow after I take pics of them. I am really grateful you were so kind to give me opportunity to forget for a moment about my tragedy. Looking forward to doing it again with you. Thank you❤.

Hi Betty! Just for fun, I have tried your painting style and it is SO HARD! I'm so tight and can't seem to let go of trying to make definite shapes that line up! I love your work! Thanks so much for being such an open book with all you share with us!
  • @ajerniganable
I love your new video! No matter how many of your videos I watch, I continue to be inspired and learn. Thank you! I relate to the struggle of over-doing areas, getting too tight and tidy at the end. I am still trying to find the just right balance of loose and intentional in my work. It's so easy for me to cross the line and suddenly the piece has lost life. An ongoing experiment! I love the balance you have in your work!

Hi Betty from Northern Ontario Canada! I'm new to your channel, and feel inspired by forests and lakes with rocky out cropping a and really rugged landscapes. Lots of trees hills with mist/fog between them. I have never tried abstract so I am very intrigued and inspired by watching you just let the paint do un-planned fun! Marks and all the mark making things you use look very fun!!!! Thanks for sharing ! I think I may try to play in this acrylic medium!!
  • @debtempleton9424
Thanks for sharing Betty. Two fab panels once again! Think painting 'tight' is in us all - remember when colouring in outside the lines was a real no no!? LOL. You continue to inspire - thank you. Cheers, Deb NZ
