The fact that elemental is relatively successful despite a dismal opening weekend means that it had terrible marketing and great word of mouth. Disney has been dropping the ball for the last couple of years

I'm so glad I gave this movie a chance, it was so beautiful

Elemental is a great film, and one of my new favourites… but i get that not everyone will enjoy this film as much as I did. The plot is very simple and isn’t grand in any way. It’s on purpose, as the focus is on the characters and their relationships, but that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. The protagonists entire internal struggle of choosing between finding her own dream or trying to repay her parents sacrifices left a huge impression on me and the romance was VERY well written. I’ve heard some people say that they don’t have chemistry which I simply don’t understand, as they felt like a very cute couple. But I digress. I can’t convince you to like this film as much as I did. We all like and dislike different things. It isn’t a perfect film, but it now holds a special place in my heart.

Excited to learn about how the director growing up in the Bronx influenced this film. Makes me appreciate it even more as a Bronx native!!!

Finally facts that actually provide some insight and content about the movie! There are so many channels that post “facts” that are either irrelevant or aren’t based on anything factual.

When Wade and Ember touch, a steam. barrier is formed between their hands - this is the Leidenfrost effect.

Im so sad it didnt do well. We need more original movies like this. Not remakes and live action.

Even though I wasn’t interested, partially because of Pixar’s poor box office records with four movies in row (Elemental making it five), it’s honestly a shame it Elemental didn’t do well cause I’ve heard some okay things about it. One of the main drawbacks a lot of people have pointed out about Pixar lately, on top of how Disney is treating their movies as quick cash grabs without much grandiose marketing like a bunch of the earlier Pixar movies, is how difficult it likely is for them to pitch original story ideas that will make big profits without them being sequels. and that’s probably why we’re getting Toy Story 5 when we really don’t need it. I don’t wanna assume Pixar is out of ideas, that perception definitely goes to Disney with how many live-action remakes they are making (going as far as to do Moana rather than animated sequel even though the movie has been around for less than a decade.) Pixar probably has lots of ideas, but maybe movie critics and Disney staff have become too restrictive on what can be shown to where most of the movies become so trite with plot lines. Pixar has pushed the boundaries with its magic, and I hope that doesn’t last for just one generation, but for all the generations to follow.

One fact you missed is that while Ember burned the flower gifts Clod gave her, the fire girl he was talking to in the end did not burn the flower. This might be because of intention. Ember had no interest or patience for Clod's gifts and her fire became what that emotion was, causing destruction rather than beauty or acceptance. But the young girl was taking an interest in Clod and had no intention of ruining the gifts he was giving her. Their emotions are an extension of themselves. Plus, can we just talk about how Zombie Nation by Kernkraft was playing in the air ball game?

Man, great video! Where do you find all the behind the scenes facts about the creators?
  • 41: small correction, Ghibli is prounced with a soft G like “Jibli”. As in japanese its written as ジブリ (Jiburi) where a hard G would be ギブリ.
