Carlsen is the only dude who can look so disinterested and interested at the same timeπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  • @IsangBigotelyo
Him explaining why Fischers should have classical time controll and classical games should have shorter time is such a goat move

"Something seriously would have gone wrong in my life to be running FIDE" - Magnus
  • @ChessforCharity
How do you want the world to remember Magnus Carlsen? "I want to play for a while still, so I don't want to be remembered anytime soon." πŸπŸ‘‘
  • @Occupant
I think one of the most enduring parts of his legacy will be not defending his world title. It's such a blow to FIDE's credibility that the best player in the world isn't interested. I think part of his decision is strategic, to weaken FIDE's control of top-level chess so the game can grow in new and interesting directions.

3:17 "Triple crown the FIRST time was fun" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

high praise to Fischer from Magnus. Basically confirming what Bobby said and also wanted for chess
  • @mikewarner3597
I'm actually really pumped about fischer random at long time controls.
  • nepo is following magnus's approach, he is playing wild lines in the opening to play positions that will test his opponent's chess knowledge rather than opening prep
  • @ravivaradhan4956
A refreshingly candid admission that he is not a creative player and, in that same regard, an interesting comparison with Anand! Magnus has shown time and again that the key to chess success is a mastery of the endgame, but most strong players tend to get bogged down in opening preparations and devote less time to endgames.
  • There should be a new 'overall' world championship format. Simplify everything. Only rating spots. Average FIDE rating of blitz, rapid and classical over the last year, 8 highest rated players(excluding the current champion) play a candidates tournament. Format for the World Championship Match could be 3 mini-matches for example: 6 classical games, 12 rapid games, 24 blitz games. Maybe even a Fisher-Random round? That would bring out the best player overall and would be incredibly awesome to watch.
  • @TheLyingLeft
I 100% agree with Magnus. The "best chess player" shouldn't just be all about study, prep, openings and variations. It should be THE BEST CHESS PLAYER at everything CHESS, period.
  • @SkateFallen1424
"if you want to find the best player in the world, you don't have to look through all the time controls. You can just look for my name" what a gigachad lol
  • @lakshya9612
Him saying don't worry about that is for other candidates πŸ˜‚
  • @debrascott8775
You can see him come to life when he is talking about new and exciting things, and when he thinks the questions are boring. Fantasty chess sounds amazing.

I love watching top level chess players battle it out.
