  • What's really spooky about this is the fact that the family moved because a serial killer was active in their area. Talk about out the frying pan and into the fire.
  • Thanks so much for covering my case suggestion, Ash!! This case always scared me as a kid, as the Green River Killer freaked me out too, then Brenda, who was near my age, disappeared not 3 miles from my home, after they moved to Bothell. Her missing fliers were posted in my neighborhood, and my parents had to reassure me I was safe, but Brenda's parents told HER that, too. You more than did the case justice. Rest in peace, Brenda.
  • That 24-hour waiting time for a child makes me nuts. How many children have died at the hands of abductors because of it? Especially after a lurker in the neighborhood. And given his record of assaults, I doubt it was burglary.

So tragic not only did they lose their daughter but her father too!😢
  • This is the saddest thing I have heard you talk about. That girl was so full of life and that man took it all away. Plus, the added insult of Brenda's father killing himself over this... Mr. Green killed 2 people the day he took Brenda's life. So very sad. Thank you for informing us. God Bless you. 😥

I still own the book that covers this heartbreaking case called, Salt of the Earth, by Jack Olsen. A great, but sad read.

So heart breaking. This is why anyone who ever commits a crime or sex crime to anyone should be locked away !

If only the police would have come out to check the suspicious car...could have spooked him and he driven away. But no... and so he got her. I would have been so angry that they didn't come out to check especially with things happening in the area.

Thank you for bringing this story to us. I am sick to think of what that terrible man did to Brenda and others. I'm glad justice was served.

Even if it’s a suspicion. Get the tag if you can and call the police immediately. We have to protect these children.
  • @Leelz247
How was this creep just allowed to go on a violent crime spree without getting caught? These police really sucked.

While it's infuriating to have a waiting period for a missing person if it's an adult - but if it's a youth or a minor they should search immediately.
  • @Presca1
If they had only got that warrant first, they knew it was him. How infuriating. That poor family, they had tried so hard to keep her safe and he still got to her. B*stard!
  • @KJKFORYOU
Thank you for your kind telling of a tragic case.

The negligent attitude of police is, and was, outrageous. A missing twelve year old is an endangered minor, even if a "runaway".
