It's nice jazza is accepting more vehicles to the space bears but he still need more dreads

A brilliant bit of serendipity is that there is a mythical creature here in the US called the Thunderbird that is viewed by many of our Native cultures as a spirit of power and strength. This includes the Ojibwe, who’s culture Jazza based his new space bears on. It might have been what GW based the name off of, but I haven’t been able to find any origins for the name. So I’d like to think that it was just a fine example of synchronicity.

the amount of care they've taken into truly representing a culture without it being offensive or rude and actually learned the meanings of everything really just warms my heart. Space Bears are really becoming this big labor of love and it's awesome, can't wait to see more of this!
  • its really cool seeing the full process and how far Dave's 3d journey has brought him
  • @pistolsobrien
Dave, just a general 3D modeling tip, when inserting edges, you want to actually insert edge loops the go all the way around the model. For example, at 2:06 you have a large N-Gon, which is a polygon with more than 4 vertices and edges. In that large thick rectangle, it actually has way more than 4 sides, because each point that it shares with those little rectangles makes a new edge. This probably won't matter in a stationary model, but if you wanted to make battle damaged version, the geometry wouldn't deform correctly. Hope that helps!
  • These space bear videos have been such a massive inspiration for my own chapter!

I can't wait to see the finished Space Bears army. You guys rock, keep it up!!
  • @johncloud3823
We need at least a short displaying all of the space bears models so far! I look forward to seeing all of the finished pieces!
  • @Quisite
I was at the second largest GW store in the world and their motto is: as long as it is about 70% GW, we are happy campers and happy to have you come and paint n stuff.

The feathers and chain hanging off of the main gun barrel is incredible! Excellent job on this.

9:50 I'm glad y'all are being like, sensible and reasonable about drawing from Native American aesthetics for the Space Bears as opposed to the alternatives.
  • Y’all should definitely make a Space Bear version of the Thunderwolf cavalry or Wolf lord on a Thunderwolf. But of course instead of Thunderwolves they would be Thunderbears and would use the Thunderwolf stats
  • @yellheahtris
Eyy I've been waiting to see this tank!! How cool is it to hold what you've spent hours making?! Some of the pieces, the feathers specifically, look so delicate, but really accentuate how badass the chapter is. Well freaking done, Dave!
  • @graefx
I love the various emblems. I imagine them being representative of different companies or maybe "family" heraldry
  • @B1ackSwordVids
This has been fantastic to watch. I’m building my own Space Marine chapter and have had a hard time thinking of what to do for vehicles, but this has been an amazing inspiration! Thank you, guys!
  • @drewbakka5265
Thank goodness for 3d printing Gw doesn't like bits anymore so it's up to people like you guys
