It's FINALLY here! XGIMI Projectors 2024!

Since Covid I’ve been doing movie nights with my kids. I have a $60 projector but I need to up grade. I trust you Jon. You gave me advice to by the Droid X lol

First movie projected was actually the Pink Floyd Pulse concert to an old Sony 3 gun commercial projector I bought secondhand from a university surplus. Hooked ever since. Next projector would power a small theater for a little town in the midwest. One of my best memories, as kids could get up close to Nemo and Dori at their size. Projectors are magical, and back then, it was the only way to make films life-sized.

Hey folks! So, the first video I would 'plan' to watch would be "Avatar: The Way of Water" and I've got this really cool story to share WHY. It's about the first time my grandson Brandon and I fired up my new projector, and trust me, it's a tale worth telling. Alrighty then... Here we go. I'd just gotten my first projector, and I was super pumped to watch "Avatar" on it. I mean, who wouldn't be, right? Popcorn ready, lights dimmed – and then, in walks Brandon, my eight-year-old movie critic. He sees the setup and goes, "Can we watch 'Up'?" You know, the movie with the floating house? How could I say no to that? Sooooooo...... NOW we’re watching "Up." And let me tell you, it wasn't just a movie night. It was an experience. I thought it would be just a cute kid's movie, but wow, it was so much more. That night turned out to be more than just about watching a movie on a new gadget. It was about us, hanging out, sharing laughs, and getting lost in a great story. That adventure with Carl and Russell in "Up" kind of became our adventure. Now, cut to today. Brandon's all grown up and about to graduate. Thinking back to that night, it really hits home how the best times in life are those you don't plan out. So, here's the deal. I would LOVE this projector! I go see every movie in IMAX whenever possible so having an IMAX Enhanced projector would be awesome. I bought the IMAX Enhanced version of Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse from Sony on my PS5 which would be perfect to watch on it 😍

If I got an IMAX home theater, I may never leave my home again! (Expect for the essentials and holiday family reunions)

I would put this projector in my garage so my son can watch movies and sports with his friends. Our house is not that big so this would be a godsend.

Why aren't all new projectors short throw? Doesn't that solve most of the issues with traditional ceiling mounted?

I wonder how this new XGiMI projector would be any different from what projectors are currently capable of doing.. My old Benq W1070 projects a 16:9 screen ratio. Only few scenes in movies like Oppenheimer and Interstellar are filmed in the IMAX ratio. On those particular scenes, the black bars from the widescreen ratio are removed from the image and it opens up to cover the full 16:9 ratio of the screen; yielding the full IMAX ratio experienced in the theater.
