You sent us your Modern decks under 100 Euros and we went to a real Modern Tournament here in Berlin to see how well they would do. And the whoever did best got to send the deck to the person who submitted it!

I hope you have enough time and resources to do this more often. The idea is awesome

Can't believe my deck not only got in to the video, but won! Never expected it to be facing off in an actual modern tournament, but looks like it still put in some work. Loved the style of this video and looking forward to what you guys do next!
  • this shows us why many budget decks can't be played competitively, the metagame is full of free interactions. good job as always ❤

6:52 Fele struggling with the Companion app is the most relatable thing I have seen
  • @bobbyhanson346
Good job Carl, but I think it's safe to say we were all rooting for Fele! :)

All other are going to be like “WTF are they doing? This is kinda dumb but I am scared of something I don’t know yet.”
  • @joshmartin533
Gah! I love this budget series... something about Carl's energy always has me in his corner cheering for him! But can we take a second and appreciate the masterpiece of the Treasure Hunt deck?! What a unique and quirky combo!
  • I love that Carl and co are always willing to try new things, definitely the most creative magic channel going right now.

Doing this for pauper brews would be awesome because budget is no problem

This video might not get that many likes, but I seriously hope you give this type of video another chance. I think the reason people don’t like it as much is just that modern is at a stage where this idea doesn’t quite work since the new cards are just so prevelant. I think this format would be way more fun in pioneer or pauper and would love to see it in one of those
  • @moor532
Holy shit somebody actually sent in Zombie Hunt, what a legend! I was hoping for it when I saw the first few clips of the deck doing nothing and I nearly pissed myself laughing when I saw Fele playing the Treasure Hunt. Would have sent that deck in myself if I didn't already have it :D
  • @Pastrytime
I'm amazed you managed to make footage you captured at a small paper tournament look this good, esp considering you were recording three different matches most of the time! Really well done video, like many commentors have said I'd love to see this again esp for Pauper.
  • 🎉 I think you did a great job. Thank you for playing my deck Thoralf, I bet it wasn't fun losing all day. Congratulations to Matthew for winning the competition! :D And of course cheers to the Zombie Infestation deck and it's submitter!
  • @ChouRaiyuki
NGL this is def a fun segment. The deck Karl ran was the only one with a proper set win so props there. The zombie infestation deck though has to be the most hilarious jank I've ever seen though. I absolutely love it
  • @SneoK
Had a blast - awesome video! Not only seeing those weird brews but also seeing you in a competitive environment is super fun to watch.

The editing, voice-over, and format of this video are incredible! Would love to see more of this type of thing in the future :D

This just reminds me of the days, of casual budget decks in a tournament are a thing of the past more or less. Even the casual events and FNG, people bring expensive decks with other peoples web decks.
  • @XxKyle318xX
Please do more of this. It’s so nice to see gameplay of paper magic with budget decks at actual events.
