Actually they ARE musicians. Several of them play multiple instruments from piano, drums, guitar and even sax. They write and produce the majority of their songs, from the very beginning.
  • @KimmyGibson
You might be surprised how many American College marching bands use BTS music/dance for their half time shows!!
  • @CChanHI
I believe for the video it’s dancers from an LA group the Lab. The young lady in middle at the beginning is the choreographer. The marching band sounds and from the live performance is the UCLA marching band. There’s a really good documentary about the process of making this song with the marching band and choir singers avail on YouTube
  • You require the subtitles (captions) as the lyric's are extremely important. The lyric's talk about them and their struggles to and their resilience to keep going even when they don't even know what country they've arrived in, no matter they wake up to find themselves worn out in a place they don't even understand the language. Suga and RM often using every spare minute between dance practice siting on a plane or in the car writing lyric's composing music etc how it never stops but they have each other to give them power to keep growing, performing. etc etc.
  • @brenda6466
BTS is all about the lyrics! The lyrics are everything!!!💜💜💜💜💜
  • @lilithlove7
The drums, horns, etc were the UCLA marching and jazz bands. The part you asked about was the dance crew, The Lab. The choreographer was 18 when she created the choreo.
  • please turn on the close captions whenever you watch BTS' content especially with their songs. Their lyrics are very deep and meaningful, they are some of the best songwriters and lyricist in the Kpop world especially RM and SUGA. This song in particular is one of those songs with a very inspiring and uplifting message.
  • BTS used Carl Jung's analytical psychology to write the lyrics and make the official MV. It talks about accepting our shadows, which are those repressed parts of us. We can only evolve when we truly accept these repressed parts of ourselves. That's why the lyrics say "leave me with my everything" Only when we accept everything that is part of us can we find peace. By the way, the drums announce. the battle that will be faced... just as it was in the Middle Ages that soldiers were warned to prepare for battle with drums. I'm Patrícia, 45 years old, psychologist and army. 🇧🇷💜

71 year old BTS Army here. This song is filmed at the Sepulveda Dam near L.A. The performers are the multi World Champion Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps along with some members of the UCLA Marching Band. Sienna Lalau front and center of the opening scene is the choreographer at the age of 19 along with some members of her dance group, "The Lab". There were also background vocals by a gospel choir. Amazing track for sure!!! Thanks for your reaction! 💜
  • Both RM and SUGA were underground rappers from their teen years. They can both improv and battle. In fact RM was feared as a freestyle rapper by 13 y/o. You can watch their individual straight rap tracks.

You should check out the 'making of' video for ON, which features members of UCLA marching band etc. and many American artists reflecting on working with BTS and BH which was a completely new experience for them The level of production here is normal for BTS. They do occasionally use CGI, but avoid it wherever they can - eg will use it for explosions to minimise danger to performers, who are often very close to that action! This came out in 2020 which predates their military service by nearly three years - but RM is now in his military band unit, playing the tenor sax and apparently loving it. (I suspect it's a huge relief from the heavy responsibilities he's had since he was 16) When this was made, BTS were loaded, but until (probably) 2018, they were in kpop terms, skint. In particular their early MVs were made on a shoestring, and they had to use managers' cars, and even managers as extras. They've always been very inventive (because they had to be) and their camera staff are integral to the performances, so, yes, they have their own choreography too, designed to integrate with the dance moves and music rhythm. 'Save Me' was filmed on a rainy beach in one take. That camera team (one camera man, one guide) were heroes. There's a making of video of that too - they were all bloody frozen! In fact for many (most?) BTS MVs there is actually a suite of relevant material - dance practice, making of, MV and live performances - worth looking at them together if you are properly interested in what BTS do and have time....
  • The woman they zoomed-in on in the beginning is Sienna Lalau. She choreographed this (at 18yo) and has done other choreo for BTS (and other groups) as well as being a back-up dancer (with her dance crew "The Lab") for BTS in concerts and live performances as well as for jhope for his Lollapalooza stage.

Please TURN ON THE CLOSED CAPTIONS when you watch a BTS video. In my opinion, if you are not getting the meaning of the song, then you are not getting the heart of the song. Which is important for understanding. As you should know, as lyricists and songwriters yourself. I've indluded the behind the scenes and a mini documenatry type video on how this project came to be. BTS have deep lyrics, so you are missing the meanings, which fall in line with the concept of their ERA, and albums. This particular album is from their Map of the Soul (MOTS) ERA, which starts with the MOTS: Persona album, and then ended on the MOTS: 7 album. It's very introspective and is inspired by Carl Jung's psychological concepts of Shadow, EGO, and Persona, which is from the concept or theory of Individuation, which was a psychological concept created by Carl Jung (Swiss psychiatrist, psychotherapist and psychologist). In this ERA BTS look inside themselves and reflect on their journey as artists and humans. The first album being about their Persona, the songs were mostly for and about their fans. and the second album was more of Personal journey inside themselves. Their lyricism is on another level. RM wrote a lot of the songs in this one, but every member contributed. Maybe if you check out their behind the scenes and commentary film, you will get a better idea of what kind of artists they are. They are not your typical "boy band" They also have an actual music video for this song as well, that tells a story. With it's own behind the scenes. This was the UCLA Marching band, and this was a part of their BTS connect project. This project was put out in 2020, before the pandemic hit, and before they ever enlisted in the military. Actually, They are all enlisted right now, except for JIN who was just discharged a day before their 11th year anniversary. The only member out of the seven that is actually playing an instrument in the military marching band is RM. He took up the tenor Saxophone, and is killing it. He played for JIN on his discharge day, which all seven of them were there for. They took a day off of their post to see him discharged and congratulate him. They really are brothers of the heart

As musicians you should watch the ON COMMENTARY FILM. This shows the recording of the marching band and gospel choir elements of the song in LA. BTS is not in it but it is so cool to see producers and artists talking so highly of BTS and many are ARMY! Not many people react to this but it is great and only 20 mins.💜
  • @lisas44
Subtitles? There are some great lyrics. tks for the reaction! Speaking of musicians, RM, one of the rappers, plays saxophone in the military at the moment. Basically the song says they've had highs and lows and bring it on, cause they can handle it.
  • The super group of 7 song writers, 7 composers and 7 Producers each to a greater or lesser extent. The 3 Rappers are the most prolific Song writers as one would expect. Suga is the most prolific Producer of the group.
  • @marihobistan
Commenting this to maybe clear some confusion. The subtitles on BTSs MVs are always correct (maybe in some old old old songs there aren’t gonna be any) but subtitles in fanmade compilations or live performances are mostly not correct or not there, only if you search for it, like “BTS MAMA live 2018 with english subtitles”. So when you guys react to music videos be sure to put on subtitles and maybe pay attention to the lyrics and meaning if you are up for it, definitely one of the core experiences with BTS, they are truly artists. The live videos, there are many many channels that give you correct subtitles, it’s easy to look it up :) So good luck on the habit hole guys ❤
  • @JoSedunary
They also used drones for some of the shots... They filmed it at the Sepulveda dam in LA... The girl in the centre of the drumline when they began is Sienna Lau.. she was 19 when they filmed this...she's done works with them since... The band is real.. the 'dancers' are part of the LAB dance crew from LA... There's a behind the scenes - you would probably enjoy it !
  • @Rayna_90
Guys, first of all, I like your reactions, but also you've watched a live performance without subtitles, but watched it with auto-generated subs.. but the MV which have actual accurate subs you don't put on the CC again.. why?
  • @monikakrell9251
all Bts mvs have eng subs, the write there own lyrics, the take up depression, menthal health, women power, haters social injustice, the 3 rappers have there own mixtapes
