Thanks so much Tim! Just having our batteries installed. Hope to be on the App from tomorrow 🙂

That was brilliant. Explained so much I've been frowning over.

Thanks for this post ! Very helpful and informative
  • Looking at getting a giv energy system soon (ac coupled) so this is useful in understanding some of the key app features

Thanks for the shoutout Tim. Much appreciated! 👍 Great in depth video and I even learnt about a few screens within the app that I had not discovered yet. Thanks Tim! Keep up the good work. 👍

Thanks for sharing like you I find the app very informative
  • Ive had mine since Friday. Its a 3.6 inverter with a 9.5 battery. Very impressed. Its saving me around 1.50 pounds per day and the weather not been very sunny. I also noticed the software update but as it had already done an calibration i have not bothered to update. Think i will wait for a very sunny day...
  • Great video as always. Fingers crossed I will have my solar installed in two weeks. I'm already obsessed with things like solar prediction. I'm sure it will wear off. When I started looking at solar last year I did set up Home Assistant. It is very good, but a complete time suck, if your a bit of a geek it is very cool and does allow you to integrate IOT devices from different providers locally meaning you are not cloud dependent or exporting your data to China. I am also experimenting with InfluxDB for time based data logging and Grafana for graphs and charts.

Nice informative video Tim. I've had my GivEnergy AIO 13.5Kwh installed last Friday. Unfortunately since then I'm awaiting a Technician to come back to me, my solar generation which is poor at right now due to cloud cover, but since the install it's all gone to the grid. None is fed to the battery of which over the weekend I lost around 11Kwh worth & none went to my iBoost+ for the immersion heater. I've had to remove the CT clamp which hadn't been touched, is set in the correct direction etc. Otherwise when it could see PV energy, it somehow told the battery to send 2.5 to 3Kwh to the immersion heater even if only 200w was being produced. Fingers crossed they can easily solve it when they get back to me on Thursday this week. I've tried using the cloud version to make slight changes, but this did not alter the PV/Battery/immersion problem, that's what I'd like to learn more about as well. But before I purchased the AIO, I hoped it would be plug & leave it alone for Octopus to charge of to make sure I don't degrade the batteries & get VFM from them.
  • Thanks for the app demo I found it very enlightening and useful as it looks identical to mine. Something odd I’ve notice is that I too have smart plugs and the majority of time my household background consumption has been met off grid but the GivEnergy smart plugs, on the app, always show a cost and never show zero cost. You sort of touched on this error but not sure if I understood but I think you were saying to ignore this.

Hi Tim I’ve just watched your video as I’ve literally had solar panels and give energy battery installed today, all very informative, thanks, one question as I can’t seem to locate it on give energy’s website, what does the dynamic mode function do in the battery settings please, I’ve left it on this function for now as it was default. Thanks Neal
  • yeh im looking at my app right now, solely solar at 7am on a cloudy day (20x 416w panels), sending 2/3 generating back to batteries
