What a strong man to admit all of this. It takes so much healing and love for yourself to talk about the pain of your past and admit where you went wrong. Much love 🥰
  • I wish this video would get millions of views and help Bobby's special blow up. The man is an OG, and funny as hell.
  • “Don’t get upset at the moment because you don’t know yet whether it’s actually going to be a good thing or a bad thing”. That’s some good advice from Bobby Kelly.

There’s are a lot of takeaways from his story. The one that stuck out to me was he had some sort of male mentor in his life that encouraged him to be better. The teacher who encouraged him to run. The sense of community he felt when he befriended a group of his peers. The counselor that helped him get on the right path. I think young men are starving for this in today’s society. We have social media but we are more disconnected than ever. His story reminded me of Mike Tyson’s trainer, Cus D’Amato. One person is all it takes.

"i GOT SOBER AT 15" is a sentence that tells an epic story in itself.

That story about the counselor yelling at the kid made me tear up. That's how you need to talk to young men

My father went to prison at 15 years old. He spent 6 years in different prisons-federal prisons. When he was leaving the prison the warden said” you’ll be back!” My dad said “ No I won’t!” He never went back, got married and raised 3 sons. Miss you dad.

This was incredible to hear. Thank you Joe for providing the space, and thank you Kelly for telling your story.

Joe is completely bald, but somehow Robert is twice as bald.
  • My father said his biggest regret was letting me get railroaded into the system . At 12 years old, I was thrown to the wolf's and it was the start of a very long road. And just like this guy, being raised in the system , I came across some people who truly cared and literally planted the seeds that changed my life. It took giving up my youth and eventually spending some hard, violent years in federal prison. But those seeds planted by those caring adults at a young age , and being shown love by my parents , no matter how misguided it was sometimes, eventually brought me back on the right path.

Had a great conversation with this man at The Laugh Factory in Chicago recently. One of the funniest people on the planet! Also, can totally empathize about the food. I've struggled with the same thing, too

You know what duuude? You got your Suzy Qs, your abusive step-dad, boom you're living life dude.
  • Bobby is such an underrated gem man. He always crushes it on the NY podcasts and been super happy to see him doing the rounds on the big shows. Been watching him for years, should be way more famous, glad he’s finally getting the attention !
  • @slapcartel
After the Louis interview I was hoping Joe was going to have Bobby on! Miss the golden days of O&A with him, Patrice and Jim so damn much
  • Great story of recovery 👍 Most don't come back. Sometimes a spring is bent too far to come back.
