I miss those good times, my brain knows better, it knows the HD, the 4K, the 60 FPS, but I will never forget those good times where I went to my friends, sat on the carpet, and played smash bros, mario 64, and zelda!

We didn’t realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun.

The first time I put Ocarina of Time into my N64 was the most magical experience. That main menu theme will always be special to me and all the 90's kids.

There’s just an incredible melancholic feeling that I get when dire dire docks plays just unreal.

It's really comforting knowing we all share such fond memories, even thousands of miles apart. Absolute magic.
  • This brought back so many awesome memories. I remembered it was my 9th birthday and my dad pulled a wrapped box from the closet. My mind was racing trying to figure out what it was. As I unwrapped it I immediately saw the huge green "N" in the corner and I couldn't contain my excitement. My parents didn't have a lot of money at the time and I connected the dots on why my dad was having to work late for a few months leading up to my birthday. My parents couldn't afford to buy me games and one of the gifts from my mom was a wrapped Blockbuster bag with Super Mario 64 rental for a week. Everyday that entire week coming home from school I raced to finish my homework, inhaled my dinner, then spent the last 3 hours of my night playing Super Mario until my bedtime. I used all of my birthday money from my family and did some yard work for the neighbors so that I could buy Super Mario 64 on my own after returning it to Blockbuster. A few more months of yard work I was able to afford Mario Kart 64. Friday nights were game nights and we would all play Mario Kart together. My mom got really good and my dad's favorite character to play was Yoshi. I love you mom and dad, thank you for the memories.

They just don't make video game music like this anymore. Crazy how this music can teleport me back to my childhood just like when that skinny guy from Ratatouille tried Remi's food for the first time.

Please take us back to the 80s 90s and early 2000s 😢❤

The first track was instant nostalgia
  • My mother passed away a few weeks ago.. she bought me my first n64 and drove around trying to find me 007 at blockbuster, I miss these days and her. We have explored the realm of fantasy together and share in the common memory of our own never land. Edit:Though we may never return to that time, we can close our eyes for a moment and let the music bring us back. I appreciate everyone’s love and support, it means a lot.
  • The fact that so many people from the same generation are fond and share such memories is really interesting and cool to see.

Still one of the best opening tracks to any soundtrack.
  • @PokeRev
I'm being hit in the feels from every angle

I listen to a lot of these and it's rare to find a mix where I haven't already heard 80% of the tracks. Nice selections (and original productions!). Ethereal

Complex topics are broken down so easily. Everything is made so understandable.

This is when video games were made for enjoyment, and relaxation. No DLC, microtransactions, intentionally addictive qualities to make you waste your life and your money; just pure enjoyment. These will always be the golden age of video games in my eyes. ❤
  • I miss these days...no worries, no stress, no real cares. Just a time where you could actually relax and enjoy life. I remember the smell of my room, the joy I felt, and the stress free environment. I so wish I could go back and stay there...if only...if only... Feeling the wind blow through my bedroom window, the sounds in the room, the smell of food my mom is cooking and hearing the noises from outside.

I can't even count how many times I've listened to this playlist. As most of us here, I grew up playing the N64 and absorbing so many incredible songs that became a part of who I am. Even the songs from games I didn't play are somehow calming and nostalgic. I mean, look at all of us. Sharing memories and unique stories. Being brought together by one common thread. Never underestimate the power of nostalgia. Thank you New Games Plus for the best N64 music playlist, period. Not to mention the visual aid. Nice touch!
