The so called “rise of the machines” has started, and it looks like obtaining citizenship is the first step. A robot named “Sophia” has made history, as it became the first ever to be granted a full Saudi Arabian citizenship. I love how were focused on robot rights when we have none...

I can't begin to imagine how advanced robots will be in the next 50/100 years.

Making a robot a citizen is exactly what I would expect from the Saudi government. Robots do not question their leaders, will show blind loyalty and are generally easier to control than actual humans. So, shes a perfect servant for a totalitatian dictatorship.

Imagine if they implement ChatGPT into this robot.

It would be more informative to eavesdrop on two robots talking with each other, to see at what point they begin to plot.

If a robot commits a murder is it prosecuted, or it's manufacturer charged.

"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago and the next best time is now" I consider this to be best motivational quote I've heard in a very long time. But motivational quotes are useless if you don't practice what you preach*

Sofia legit looks and feels like an actor acting like a robot (same vibes as C3-P0 in A New Hope)
