Incredible flying considering how tricky the real F104 is to fly. It's basically a missile with little wings attached

    so realistic, fantastic 😎👍👍👍😀

Ahhhh, the good old widow maker. I remember watching 2 Dutch F104s Flying into Lakenheath as a teenager. You could hear them long before you could see them. A ton of black smoke pouring out the back. They looked very different next to the F111 Es parked up ! I was 14 and my uncle was a liaison officer at the base. Summer of 1977.

Hi dom, some info I found on the model; it is an airworld f104 weighing in at 74kg, using a Jetcat p550 pro with Powerbox core radio and is built and flown by Trond Hammerstad

As soon as it’s in the air, there’s nothing giving the scale away. Brilliant model, and ditto flying! But I’m 58 now, so when I was 1/3 scale in 1972, the full scale 104’s roared above me constantly, training towards a war that stayed cold. Not too sure these days… 😅 [Edit: …and realised that the model (decals) and builder are 🇳🇴 as well… 🙈👍]
  • Must be RELATIVELY lighter than the full scale F-104 to get off the ground that quick, or have much higher power to weight. Love the "Sabre dance" on landing.

About landing ..it was lateral wing or right brake ratio higher than left? Maybe in a jet is difficult to controll that rollwave when it starts ?
  • @edhage374
Wow,that thing is gigantic!!...a dart with wings, amazing how slow it can fly to land...great piloting, i wouldn't dare to,that's for sure!!😅...was there someone eating candy next to you Dom,or was it rain i heard?😅
  • Wow, such beautiful model. I noticed that the left wheel is not turning at the end of the video, and I'm wondering if the pilot forgot to disengage the breaks or is it a malfunction?

The first plastic model I built was a F-104. I was 10 years old, and saved up my money pulling weeds for neighbors and cashing in empty pop bottles.

Hi Don. I’m really enjoying your YouTube channel. The videos are fantastic. The camera you’re using does a stellar job. Two quick questions because I’m thinking about purchasing that camera since it does such a beautiful job. First question, how do you like the image stabilization? Second question, are you using the stock lens that came with the camera or do you use a different lens when you’re shooting aircraft that are in the air?

Could this plane go supersonic? I recall the real version could go 1500+.
