Okay, we screwed up! In our recent video, "The Contest of the Crazy Expensive Fans", we pitted the QL120's to the Riing Trio based on price. However, in January 2020, ThermalTake released the Riing Quad. So we're fixing that here and now! In this vide compare the two RGB heavyweights out on the market, #Corsair and #ThermalTake, to see who holds the crown for the top RGB fan.

In this video, we compare the Corsair iCUE QL120 RGB against the Thermaltake Riing Quad 12 RGB Premium Edition on airflow, noise, and of course their RGB and configuration software!

  • Wow! The quality on this in next level!! Definitely a new sub here! Good work on the video!
  • @KayofSpades
Missed the biggest difference and what makes the QL stands out is how the lighting looks as a pull configuration (AKA how they look from the back).
  • @Shevanovich
Thanks for going back and addressing the Thermaltake Quad vs Corsair QL. Respect.

  • @IssacharLee

Thorough, well presented and to the point. Insta-subbed!

Thank you, based Kevin Smith. This was the exact comparison I was looking for. Addendum: The Thermaltake software lets you save a profile. That can be imported to Razer Synapse which lets you sync them all up as well as all the other brands that work with Razer.

Bruh how are you gonna make a fan with 54 LEDs but just have none in the back? Was excited to get some Riing Quads but looks like I'm gonna be going for the QL120s
  • @glutt0n0us
Really appreciated this review, especially the software aspect
  • one big oversite i don't see people talking about is that the Corsair fans look great from behind.
  • @natevirtual
can you see the individual LEDs on the Riing Quads? I have 2 sets of the Riing Plus, and when you look at them head-on, you can see the individual LEDs through the protective white ring around them, I wish they were smoothed out by the ring, I wonder if the Quads have the same issue, if they do, that would defeat the purpose of having aesthetically pleasing fans to being with...
  • @EmoEmu
One thing that worries me a little is how thick the fan hub has gotten on the TT Riing Quads due to fitting all those LEDs in there. A thick hub would equal a bigger hot-spot behind it right? Makes for a bit more of an uneven cooling.

In various forums I have read mixed reviews on how well the Corsair Commander Pro pairs up with the QL fans. I have read everything from amazingly well, all the way down to don't waste your money. I want to use 2 QL140 fans, 1 QL120 fan, and some LED strips as well. Can you please do a video showing how well this combination works, or does not work?? Thanks in advance.
  • @Xachremos
I picked up 2 QL140’s for intakes. Damn I was blown away. I’m gonna pick up more 120mm fans for the rest of my system whenever they get back in stock

iCUE does control fan rpm, must have a Corsair AIO, Commander Pro or the Commander Core for this to appear in iCUE. Solid vid my man! I slapped your thumb. The one pointing up.
