What is a virtual furry conference or vcon?
Much like a normal furry con, a virtual conference will be a place where like-minded furries can meet and participate in panels, discover great artists, participate in some furry games and general shenanigans.

The only difference is that our con is online, in cyberspace.

Where can I participate and how much does it cost?
The main con will be broadcast over Youtube and you can use the Youtube chat to participate.

It is completely free of charge.

I might not be able to make the con?
The great thing about vcons is that you can watch it later. If you visit our Youtube channel you will find the entire vcon archived - you can even fast forward to watch just the panels you’re interested in!

Will FURSAverance be a recurring convention?
We really hope so, this is very much a test for us, but we want to keep on doing them, in some form or another.

Is it only on Youtube is there any other way to participate?
Because this is our first vcon we want to keep things as simple as possible, so we will only be on Youtube.

Why is Pawesome Wacky Whiskers Rescue & Rehoming the chosen charity?
We had certain criteria for choosing a charity to support. We preferably wanted to help an animal charity that didn’t have a lot of existing support, corporate sponsors or governmental aid. We identified PWWRR (www.facebook.com/PawesomeWackyWhiskers/) as such a place.

But I know of this really good charity that you could donate to!
As much as we would like to help more organisations, our help must also be meaningful to them. We have no idea how successful our fundraising will be and we don’t want to split the pot too much. If you have suggestions for charities we could support in future, please drop them into the feedback form we will distribute after the con!

How can I help with the con?
Honestly, you just showing up and supporting our panelists would be awesome! These folks have been working hard behind the scenes to get their panels and events ready for you to enjoy.

There will be plenty of opportunities to participate, ask questions and interact with other furries during this event. Socialise in the chat window, check out the Artists’ Listing (maybe pick up a commission or two), buy tickets for the raffle or donate to support our charity. You can also help by telling more folks about the convention so that we can spread the love!

How will the raffle work?
A raffle is like a lucky draw. You buy tickets and there are several prizes that can be won if your ticket is chosen at the end of the con! To keep it simple and affordable, we have set the price at $1 per raffle ticket. A list of all the prizes will be made available to tempt you on the first day of the con.

Where can I find more info on your mascot?
Our mascot is the feisty but caring honey badger, Matimba (or Mat for short). His name means “strong” in Xitsonga, one of South Africa’s eleven official languages. Honey badgers are resilient and widespread from the southern-most tip of African all the way to the Indian subcontinent - kinda like how FURSAverance aims to reach across borders! He embodies the can-do attitude we had when we tackled this project.
