1964 Astor G10L Restoration complete!

Published 2014-05-19
The new BSR TC8 "ful-fi" dual LP/78 cartridge for my Astor G10L portable phonograph arrived today, so I could finally re-start work on the unit. The turntable was also running a little slower than 33RPM, which sounded absolutely aweful! I ran some electrical tape around the perimeter of the turntable platter to help give the idler wheel more grip, and to speed up the turntable a little. It worked successfully, and the unit runs great now!

Great restoration good to see it fitted with a TC8 Cartridge it makes the restoration complete. I hate to see those amazing machines with a modern cartridge fitted as many are missing the flip over flag
