Maybe im overestimating how powerful a necropotence type card can be even with a hand size limit of 5 but there is no way necrodominance is not some sort of broken
  • @kaszael
Fanatic of Rhonas? Fanatic of Mogis? No: Fanatic of Rhogis!

Birthing Ritual isn't scuffed Birthing Pod. Its a sidegraded Survival of the Fittest for maverick decks. Birthing Ritual can get lower/same cost creatures, so if you play a bunch of cheap 2-3 cost hate bears, you can just dig 7 deep every turn and grab the perfect answer to whatever nonsense the opponent is trying to do.

Nadu's ability even puts the lands in play untapped... that's a Thassa combo card
  • Wow, that new Necropotence combo is a one card combo with Sheoldred as a commander, that's extremely strong
  • @Samantho87
The chockehold that Bowmasters has on all formats it is legal in is INSANE.
  • @maggiek8616
I don't think it was brought up, but Nadu doesn't even count as drawing the cards. So doesn't trigger Bowmasters or Sheoldred which seems even more obnoxious

Turn 2 play Fanatic of Rhonas. Turn 3, play Topiary Stomper. Turn 4, have 9 mana
  • @DoctorWhoBlue
Nadu seems the sequel to Uro. Lower floor, but massively higher ceiling.

If we manage to get a spoiler video where Seth doesn’t mention Orcish Bowmasters it will be a miracle.

"Maybe the best two-mana mana dork we have ever seen" Priest of Titania: Am I a joke to you?

My guess is Birthing Ritual plays better as slow and grindy CoCo rather than unreliable Birthing Pod. Looking at the top seven really isn't appealing for a toolbox/combo approach. You need it to generate value every turn and function in a similar way to CoCo powering out "enters the battlefield" creatures in a deck that would want those creatures even if it didin't have Birthing Ritual.
  • @roronoa1243
The lands not entering the battlefield tapped from Nadu's ability is the purest example of simic privilege I've ever seen.
  • Rhonas has been in the game for years now. How is he saying Rhogas? 🤣

29:57 I like this call out. It's always nice to give Wizards their due when they do a fun, clever thing like this.
  • @JimPea
I want Birthing Ritual for my Henzie Commander deck. Blitzed out creatures are going away anyway, so anything in the top seven is an improvement.
  • @mageius
The new Necro has one other drawback, its now whenever a card goes to your graveyard from anywhere instead of just being discarded.

Sometimes late at night I get into my bathtub and I think of Seth's beard.
