Killer Instinct-Farewell Mick Gordon (Extended)

I remember being a kid in '94 when Killer Instinct came out and I THINK it was around 96-97 that I began to look at KI 2 and KI Gold stuff on the internet (Good ol' days of Netscape, before y'alls time). You have to understand, that a VIDEO GAME with those kind of 3D graphics and art style was really awesome to us. We were just enjoying it, looking at websites that DARED to have the ULTRA HIGH TECH GIFS AND MUSIC (Y'all would LAUGH at it today). But that was huge to us. And after playing the game, we just kind of sat there waiting for the next Killer Instinct game. Me being a huge Sabrewulf fan, I seriously was hoping he'd get a big win. We would talk, chat. Almost every year until around 2002 I think. "I heard a new KI is coming out, KI Diamond, it'll have like, Sabrewulf and Riptor and everything, plus a mortal kombat character" or "Yeah, I heard they're working on a new KI, Jago gets a cybernetic eye he took from Fulgore" or "Yeah, the new KI is supposed to be for Playstation! Nuh-uh, they worked a deal out, Sabrewulf and a were-tiger are gonna in it!". ...at some point, we realized it wasn't going to happen. Then, in 2013 I'm on deployment in Africa (US Army) and I heard about the new KI and I am thinking "HOLY CRAP, TELL ME THEY BROUGHT SABREWULF BACK!" They did. Hearing this track... well, it makes me feel like we're back where we were before. Maybe this is the final end of Killer Instinct. Personally, I'm just glad it got a HECK of a send-off with a BRILLIANT sequel that did great and gave us lots of the old characters and plenty of new ones too! At some point, KI is over and maybe deep down it already is but... for me. I'm grateful for the memories.

I’m just now hearing this in 2021 and I’ve been doing my research on K.I and all of the songs fucking smacks! I listen to them at work and I’m all pumped up

i played a random track before a trip back home and this played in my mp3 player it was amazing to hear this while listening to my surroundings before a flight back home to see my loved ones after a time being out working far away from family and friends

It is said that one of Mick Gordon's theme songs for DOOM inspired Frank Klepacki's Hell March. I can see the two game OST legends getting together and making music. Wouldn't that be epic?
