Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire is Zack Snyders latest Netflix movie series. Based upon Classic Star Wars it's a brand new Snyderverse creation intended to unite Scifi fans with Snyder movie fans. But the critic reviews for Rebel Moon have left a lot to be desired. Is Rebel Moon a derivative sci-fi Star Wars Rip off with no plot? Or is it the greatest action movie of the year? Is Rebel Moon worth watching?

Rebel Moon Reviews are out for Part One: A Child of Fire and the critics are NOT pleased. While the audience scores are better coming in at 72% they will also be from Zach Snyder's biggest fans, so still a cause for hesitation. But while Netflix is often linked to streaming television series, Rebel Moon is a 2 part movie series, that just happens to be the same length as a streaming tv series. The issue with a 2 part movie is that the movies have to be satisfying independently, and from the reviews on BOTH sides, this doesn't seem to be the case. The trends across the reviews seem to be its a beautiful movie with set pieces that look great as wallpapers or in trailers. But the story doesn't hold together largely because there isn't one. That MAY wait till part 2. I'm interested to see it, but I'm dubious at best about Zach Snyder's latest Netflix movie. But are you looking forwards to Rebel Moon? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

I want to personally thank you for doing more to preserve "Willow" for posterity than Disney did.
  • @user-gt8rs1on6q
The trend of showing the entire movie in the trailer doesn’t help

That “daddy issues” clip was the best thing to come out of Gotham Knights

I forgot how elegant Farscape was in telling a story through the eyes of a character who plunges into a universe. i miss that type of story.

Farscscape is a wonderful series. it evolves from a lone, desperate man into an epic space adventure with utterly unique charachters.

“A million storyboards without a single thing welding them together.” A Zack Snyder film from the last 10 years.
  • So far this year I've really enjoyed Robyn Hood, Gotham Knights, Secret Invasion, Dr. Who, Velma, and Witcher: Blood Origins... Not the shows, oh God no! Disparu's reviews have been very entertaining. I'm beginning to think the studios are secretly sponsored by YouTube, who generates more revenue from reviewers than the show makes itself.

I've run RPG groups for teens and young adults with mental health issues for yeaars now, and a friend of mine tried to run an RPG group for five ASD teens despite my warnings. It took them five 4-hour sessions to create the characters and get the party together. Rebel Moon reminds me of that.

The 1973 Japanese series, The Water Margin, based on the legendary 14th century Chinese novel of the same name, managed to have the main protagonist, Lin Chung, recruit different outlaws to his cause each week, while managing to include a new side story in each episode, and advancing the central plot each week also. These episodes were 45 minutes long and cost next to nothing to make.

I rewatched the pilot episode of Transformers and was shocked and amazed how much information was in a 25 min cartoon. It built characters, gave a past history and has an action scene. More development in 25 mins than I've seen in many 2-3 hr movies today.
  • I'm always cautious about Zack Snyder films... Maybe it has something to do with that time he was living in the Amazon with my mom while she was studying spiders right before she died.
  • Zack Snyder had a legacy? *Edit: the story begins in the second film? There's gonna be a longer director's cut that will make everything better even though the movie's already pretty long? Why does this sound like we're just doing all of the Snyderverse arguments all over again?
  • @jkh378
Once again, I will point to the masterpiece that is the Lord of the Rings Trilogy on how a proper multi-part movie series should be done, how introductions should be done, and how worldbuilding should be done in general.
  • @NateO123
“Style over substance.” Three words that sum up Zack Sneider as a director to perfection 😂
  • @bailysawyer804
The shot where she blocks two separate arms at the same time says it all. The side difference in the attackers arms vs hers is absurd and she would absolutely get rocked
  • @briandain8432
Just go watch SERENITY from 2005. That's how you make a good movie for everyone, Gals and Guys.
  • @theequalizer9154
These days, if you wish to torture someone, take them to a movie.😂😂😂
  • @petriew2018
personally i'm not shocked, since i fully expect this movie to be the most Zack Snyder thing ever As in it'll be superficially cool because Snyder is quite talented as a cinematographer. He knows how to make even the most mundane stuff seem intense. But it'll be all surface level because Zack Snyder has absolutely no talent as a writer

Isn't getting the gang together a montage in a film, not a film? This film needs a montage.
