Samurai in the sengoku warring states period in Japan are literally just Warhammer 40k Orks. But there's one daimyo who was the orkiest of all.

Gaijin Gombah is turning into an Ork channel and I'm all here for it

I think part of the reason Oda nobunaga is remembered as the monster it's cuz he never got a chance to go beyond the conqueror phase of his rulership. Unlike the other two unifiers he was assassinated before he had solidify his rule and transition from the military warlord to the ruler. So all people remember is the conqueror

Orka Nobudakka is amazing and learning about how the historic inspirations of him is great

...honestly, Glitzdakka being this tale's Mitsuhide makes sense. He's even got a reason for trying to Honnouji the hell out of Nobudakka's forces baked in: he's resolved to never let another git take advatage of his teef again, and fears Nobudakka'll eventually succumb to the temptation.

This is probably one of the best videos Gaijin has put out. Its the combination of his love for his hobbies and japanese history, and his pure passion. Nobunaga even makes a cameo!
  • Oda was many things but cold blooded wasn't one of them. If anything, Nobunaga had a temper. A really bad temper that actually got him in trouble once or twice.
  • @sentaukrai
Never got into warhammer personally, but i can totally respect the lore and joy that the characters, bring people.

Next video : How Commando Orks wearing sneaky purple are actual ninjas.

This just made me realize something: Oda Nobunaga was literally living the roman Caesar way. Rising to power, accepting new recruits, as long as they see themselves as his subjects, getting back stabbed by a close member of his "senate". Even the interest in taking modernization inspiration from other nations, to improve his own army is similar. Would actually be interested to see a video about Orcish Roman Kaizerz.

Orka Nobudakka!!!! Oh god yes I am going to make a entire sengoku period ork army with the great warriors of the period!!
  • Honestly I hope this starts a trend for Warhammer channels to talk about and display their own personal Warhammer OCs. These are really fun ^^

While this isn't what I expected for the "Nobunaga isn't as bad as everyone thinks" video, it is what I should have expected from your channel. Japanese Historical learning from the lens of modern media. And I can only imagine if an Ork met Nobunaga they would: challenge him to a head butting contest, admire each other's daka and choppas, have a drinking contest, and then go krump some gitz. Repeat as necessary.

I got say, Orka Nobudakka is such a great name because its such a poorly veiled reference and just sounds dumb and amazing at the same time

My own headcanon here for Orka Nobudakka: Considering how his historical inspiration, Oda Nobunagga, was considered the Great Unifier of Japan, perhaps headcanon that Nobudakka also got together a great unifying of various Orks similar to previous Ork Bosses who brought Orks together for WAAAHH campaigns.

My first introduction to Oda Nobunaga was actually an otome game called "Sakura Admist Chaos" where he's the main poster boy for this game. They didn't hide the fact that he's publicly considered a "demon" due to his ruthlessness and tactic, even in the game he can come off as not a great dude even to you...but the story really showed a more human side to him, which for an otome game makes sense you're supposed to love this guy as your love interest, but it got me thinking once I heard the historical side: is this really all there is to it? Glad to see that my thoughts on there being more to it the pop media representation of Oda isn't just mine alone. Thanks Gaijin!

Games and some people constantly go on and on how evil Nobunaga was. I remember watching Extra Credit's history on the guy and thinking "this guy isn't evil. He's just effective." And, when it comes to the burning and slaughter of the temples...That was less "evil" and more they didn't give him any other choice. After 10 years fighting at a previous temple and him needing his armies elsewhere, he did the only thing he could do to end the bloodshed early. Honestly, it was the same rationale as using the atomic bomb. It cost a lot of lives, both innocent and military, but it ended the conflict with those people quickly. When the enemy fights on the terms of "Victory or last man standing"...you kinda have to take them up on that offer.

You taught me more about Japanese history than the schools I’ve been to ever would.
  • @savvivixen8490
I'm not even a Warhammer fan. I just enjoy you passionately talking about these lil dudes that bring you such joy! 🥰 The historical contexts are a delicious delicious bonus. :3

The orkish-japanese cracks me up so much. I love this so much. Good on you Gaijin Goombah!
