I don't think I would quote someone who is supportive of everything you are against. Not really fair to her. I'm sure you could have found a crazy politician who is much more aligned with you to quote.
  • @HuskerDanie
His speech was filled with negativity. I would’ve hoped for the speech to focus on the hard work that the students have put in over the years and where life takes them after college. I would not expect a commencement speech to include a political rant.

He's obviously jealous of Taylor and her success. He can't stand seeing a woman of her magnitude being successful; that's why he didn't mention her by name.
  • @vburgan
Here’s a Taylor Swift quote for Butker: God save the most judgmental creeps Who say they want what's best for me Sanctimoniously performing soliloquies I'll never see - “But Daddy I Love Him,” The Tortured Poets Department
  • Almost as bad as the horrible lies he said, Harrison took a special moment for these hardworking students and used it to air out all of his controversial political takes. His one job was to commend the students and he somehow managed to make it all about himself.

I hope the school speaks out like the NFL did that Butker's comments do not reflect their beliefs. I am so glad my kids went to colleges that selected much better commencement speakers. What a self-centered little man using the time he should have been using to inspire these students to vent and rant.

I’m confused why he thought a graduation speech was a good time to talk about his negative political opinions
  • he’s telling women that just spent so much money and years getting their degree to just be mothers and wives?!!!
  • @james0805
Why is a football player giving a college speech? Shouldn’t people like phds do that, people will intellectual achievement like scientists?
  • @GC-pq6vm
The desperate attempt to sound cool by mentioning Taylor Swift without realizing that she promotes equality, women’s rights, and the ability to determine your own destiny… everything opposite of what he spoke about
  • He is a traditional Catholic man who was INVITED to speak at a traditional Catholic University full of other traditional Catholics. He said nothing which wasn't official Church teaching. The audience gave him a standing ovation at the end. These are affairs of the Catholic community, if you don't like it- it's simply none of your business.

To be fair, this guy is just a kicker. He’s not an intellectual. So asking a random athlete to speak to graduates is dumb.

I guess he has mommy issues. His mom, Elizabeth Keller Butker, is an accomplished physicist who has worked in the department of radiation oncology at the Emory University School of Medicine since 1988.
  • @boogerlui
lol, he told the graduating women in the audience that they should not seek out careers and be comfortable being housewives and homemakers. LOLLL
  • @eloiselovesdevi
The principle of freedom of speech, in ensuring a healthy and functioning civil society, is more important than anyone’s personal sensibilities. This push towards cultural totalitarianism is extremely disconcerting.
  • @oblivion85
What does he mean by “Diabolical lies”?
  • @lelabryan8155
This whole speech was extremely inappropriate for a graduation speech. I am a college graduate and a teacher. I didn't want kids so I guess in his mind, I'm nothing??? My guess is IF he is still playing for the Chiefs, he's going to get Booed and hissed off the field when he goes to kick and he will be a huge distraction. Women are furious with him. Shades of the handmaid's Tale.
  • @DM-hl3bx
I hope this guy finds the help he clearly needs.
