You re-sign Domi first. That guy should be a Leafs with how hard he played.

They need to start at the Top, Admit the Shanaplan is not working.
  • I'd take Domi for 4m per ×5yrs, over Marner at 12m per any day of the week. If Marner was making half that then mabey Marner, but at this point in time, it's Domi for 4m ×5yrs over Marner at 12m 100%

I said Dubas was the biggest mistake the day they hired him. I said marner was payed way too much the day they gave him 11 million. I was roasted for saying those things. Shanaplan needs to go Keefe Reilly marner Tavares all need to go. Tavares if he’s willing to go on injury reserve for the year and come back for playoffs. Bring in a real hockey guy as president and build a team properly with defensive depth and grit and goalie and a coach that has structure. Clean house. This should have happened 3 years ago

I think it's a coaching issue for the most part and shanny has to go it's been too long . I think Mitch has played his way out of this lineup.

I felt like in game 7 the defence gave the team a chance to win, the goalie gave the team a chance to win .... and the forwards could not get it done, could not do their job. 1 goal. Half the salary cap on 4 goal scorers who can't score in the playoffs.
  • Watching as a Bruins fan …. I thought the Leafs best player in the series was Domi ! He plays like a Bruin. The kid Knies was all over the ice & gave max effort .He’s going to be a great player. McCabe & Lyubushkin were your best D-Men. Nylander was a stud when he played . Marner is a stiff..!He just coasted with zero effort on Pasta’s OT goal. Unforgivable in an OT Game 7.Tavares is dead weight too ! Not worth the contract…! Morgan Reilly was great at icing the puck when there was no need to. Other than that I didn’t see much from him. Bertuzzi was wreaking havoc all over the ice & seemed like he was trying to do too much. He’s best when he plays in front of the net. And finally something was/is obviously wrong with Matthews…. Anyway….That’s what I saw this series.
  • Booch, a defensive defenceman who puts up points like Mitch Marner in the playoffs, maybe he'll want 10.9m per too, who knows maybe more he's a right shot d man, lol jkn Seriously though, haven't we seen enough of Marner already to know he is what he is? Time for a change Leaf management.
  • Andrew, let’s get real. Us non-Leaf hockey fans hear it year in, year out, as soon as the Leafs make their way to the golf course, they all say that’s it, they are no longer cheering for them. They go through the anger phase for a few weeks, then there is a subtle transformation, you hear about a trade here, a signing there, more snot and grit coming, training camp comes around, hungry hockey fans have been starved of not being able to watch their Leafs for 5+months ! Then inevitably, just like how the sun rises in the east, Leaf fans wake up, proclaim a new season is coming, things will be different this year, you just watch ! They have great seasons, put up a lot of points, team leaders put up big numbers, power play is clicking, penalty kill is good, goaltending is good enough to raise a lot of hopes…..and then…..and then….April rolls around. Big stars go silent, power play sucks, goaltending is sub-par, another first round exit happens. Leafs dash their fans hopes AGAIN ! And as per usual, you have the wash, rinse , repeat cycle happen all over again. Leaf fans are gluttons for punishment , corporate Leaf management knows it judging by the full stands and strong jersey sales, and decide to run it back again, with a few tweaks here and there, more snot and grit 🤣 I’m a Blackhawk fan, went through the lows for many, MANY, years, before we hit lightning in a bottle in back to back years with Toews and Kane. Trying to do so again with Bedard & Celebrini. If we do indeed get Macklin, I bet you anything that Chicago wins a Stanley Cup before the end of the decade, while the Leafs are running it back again, with the same predictable results 🤣

Think of it this way, you have two kinds of horses, race horses, and war horses. One is built for speed, agility, and performance, the other is built for off roads, rough terrain, and heavy lifting. Playoff hockey Is a war horse game that requires race horses to perform like war horses.
  • @TheogRahoomie
I agree with you about Woll. Like he’s got serious potential but we can’t roll into the playoffs with him as our starter and then he gets injured a game or two in and then we are stuck with our hopes on Martin Jones.

Here's my take. If Marner waves his NTC to NYI because of Lou Lamoriello is in charge. Leafs D. PULOCK F. NELSON 1ST rd & 4Th For Islanders D. LIJEGREN F. MARNER Even with the trade of older players, it's still win now mode, get 1st, u get savvy veteran like Nelison to replace Bertuzzi, while making Pulock a part of core. Eat up one more year Nelson and Traverse for hopefully friendly team deals next year, sign Knies and some key players or free agents. Try something while Mathrew, Reilly and Nylander are in their prime. You can't replace regular season Marner, but it's something NYI need to consistently to make playoff runs. Plus I think Roy will make him work. Core 4 forces Toronto to have turnovers every year, squeezing out key depth pieces and goalies year after year. In the playoffs time your not playing teams with half a roaster or draft lottery teams. Good playoff of teams like grinding out the other teams defense and there's not defense to help other than Rielly get the elite players pucks, i think Poluck give them another option beside Riley who a times is overwhelmed
  • @robroma6283
Defence was for sure not the issue. Mccabe and Benoit played great. Edmunson was good too. Marner and Tavares gotta go rebuild with 22 mil of cap space
  • Hopefully Marner agrees to waive his no move clause. Trade return would not be great due to a number of factors, but the cap space would be valuable. Would like to see JT voluntarily turn the C over to Matthews. No need to blow it up, but getting Marner out of the picture is the key, and not just for on ice stuff.
  • Well start the blow up process, Marner trade potential destinations, Keefe bye bye, Shannahan you gotta go too! Make next season a completely different look. Address the goaltending and acquire another 1st line D-man. PLEASE!
  • There is ways they can get rid of Tavares and Marner. NMC's can be dealt with. It isn't so set in stone that they arent being moved. I would assume they trade Marner and either strip JT of the "C" or trade him.
  • @johntuttle9012
They are not a playoff team they play as individuals major player changes are needed
  • @dannyhawtin8729
They start by firing Keefe and hiring Craig Berube as the coach (No more country club) We pray that Marner will work with the organization on a mutual trade and you get a decent return and free up some cap space in the process. Then you sign Domi and make him your second line center. You convert Tavares into a winger, in his final year of his deal. Re-sign Ilya Lybushkin and Sign Nakita Zadorov in Free Agency Knies Matthews Tavares (Winger) Domi Nylander Jarnkrok Minten McMann Reaves Kampf Dewar/Holmberg Reilly Lybushkin McCabe Zadorov Liljegren Benoit (Goalie) Woll
