This neglect was prior to this storm and no one reported it. Or it was reported and nothing was done about it until the storm made it an issue that no one could hide or ignore

It certainly sing that they abandon them they didn’t get a generator out there and run fans or nothing else for them and from the looks at the of the building they were taking that money and not fixing nothing

I wish these folks better days ahead and hope they make wiser preparations for future storms. Especially if mobility and power is a necessity. As one with a 95 yr old mom still without power EVERY damn time a story like this makes the news after a storm anywhere the so-called "journalists" post a very incomplete picture of what these places are. INDEPENDENT LIVING is just that. My mother-in-law was in one until she went to nursing care. It is a small apartment with some supervision and optional conveniences you have to pay extra for. It is up to the tenant (they are NOT patients) and their families to handle those things, NOT management. That said it is certainly terrible management that no one has made contact with these folks and checked on them - public assistance housing at it's worst.

Wait, the storm happened to EVERYONE. Stuff happens. If ur elderly or have a disability, u don't wait until ur cellphone battery dies to think about ways to get help. U call 911 immediately. Most people ALL across Houston and surrounding haven't gotten their power back on.
