I really hope rebirth has some kind of materia fusion like crisis core. I swear my Zack was an unkillable, bulletproof GOD. Stat maxing everything and basically breaking the game was hilariously fun for a hardmode run

Crisis Core is still one of my favorite Final Fantasy games. I preordered it on pc and finished it and all the achievements in like 30 hours. Game is a masterpiece.

I know I'm extremely late, got this game on sale with the FF7 intergrade dlc and enjoyed the platinum journey. The squats mini game didn't give me PTSD flashbacks as a useful youtube comment mentioned you can use the light where Zack's head meets as a good reference to hit triangle and took me 20 minutes. Also minvera took me two tries as the first attemp she got me with a cheap hit.

Surprised you never tried mastering the Buster Sword Proficiency before Minerva. Because when each "checkpoint" is reached, a permanent boon is given. The boon that is the most useful for the fight, at least for me, is that in the Buster Blade stance no damage is taken, basically. So I did attack, stance, tank the hit with 0 damage, repeat, basically.

Finished this yesterday, story wise it was good, but man the game had a lot of issues. Especially the DMW. I was going to do all the side missions but the superboss felt like a pain and I cba attempting it more than once
