I actually do believe William recognized Mike when he met him in the office. You can tell because he pauses as he reads his last name, and then leans forward to get a closer look at him. As if trying to see the resemblance to Garrett.
  • It’s genuinely refreshing to see practical effects being used in a newly released movie. The Jim Henson company absolutely nailed the designs of the animatronics. The 2nd FNAF movie is gonna be one hell of a challenge production wise considering that there’s over 15 animatronics in the game.😂

I think the “C O M E F I N D M E” message is definitely Garret as the Puppet. His kidnapping resembles Charlie’s death in the main series in a lot of ways. First, it was most likely Afton’s first kill, as evidenced by Vanessa having Garret’s toy plane in a photo taken at Freddy’s while it was still open, ergo before the missing children’s incident, and is the only crime of William’s we know to have taken place outside of a Fazbear Entertainment building. How the Puppet animatronic would be involved with Garret is unclear, but everything else seems to match perfectly. (Actually, in the actual event of Garret being taken, the pre possession Puppet actually mirrors Mike- being designated to protect the victim and failing to do so.)
  • I loved how wholesome they revealed Freddie & Gang to be, reminding us that these aren’t just simple minded robots, they contain the souls of traumatized children. Like how they relied on pictures to understand what happened to them. 🥺😭 it really made me feel for them and the horrible injustice they were dealt.

I absolutelly LOVED how MatPat got a cameo in the movie, being one of the most prominent voices of the FNAF fandom online, the other being Markiplier who was asked to appear in the movie as the security guard that preceded Mike before being murdered, but he turned it down due to a scheduling conflict with his own movie Iron Lung It kinda feels like a reward for all the effort 😂

I think the FNAF community is in agreement that the “Come find me” message is from Garrett from what I’ve seen. Seeing that his spirit isn’t with the other five and his fate is left in the dark. Though which animatronic he’s controlling is up for debate some speculate that he is the puppet, others believe that he is going to be something else.

I’ve gotta give props to the Jim Henson Company and Matthew Lillard. The practical effects for the animatronics are great, and Lillard is scarily good as Afton, which is really freaky considering he’s also the voice of Shaggy.

So refreshing to see someone who didn’t know much/anything about the games do some well rounded research when reviewing this movie! Have seen so many reviewers caught up on the silly premise that they forget that it’s why the games were so popular and that it’s what audiences wanted that they missed the fun and I love you got into the theorising spirit!

Coming from a non-FNAF fan and big horror geek, this was so enjoyable to watch. I can't even explain why.
  • He definitely recognized Mike. He was disrespectful and snarky to him up until he read his name then completely changed his tone. He knew Mike and who he was. as for Garrett, it's likely he's the puppet. The "It's Me" was always therorized to be the crying child trying to get the attention of the security guard who was his older brother Mike. And Garrett seems to be the Puppet which has been hinted out throughout the movie. Puppet was on the blackboard and Come Find me is similar to the Save them in the games. And it is the year 2000 (security camera had the date). Early enough where some poeple have cells but early enough that it wouldn't be strange to not have.

Also I don't think getting hurt in the dream world, is what hurt him. Pretty sure the boys ghost used the foxy robot to cut him then it took off
  • They teased the puppet in a couple scenes. "Blink and you'll miss it" kind of thing. Its hiding in the shadows behind the stage at one point, and in another spot you can see it peering from the kitchen.
  • The place crumbles because the fifth kid, the blonde one, is like a poltergeist. He’s the one randomly opening and locking doors, for example.

Never thought I’d see the day Foundflix covers FNAF

The bit where vanessa gives mike the tazers was interesting. She outright said that afton controls the animatronics when hes there and then later said she wouldn't be of any help if her father was there. Its heavily implying she too is a robot, probably closer to book Elizabeth than game Elizabeth where she is able to take on an extremely realistic human form. I dont know if its just a happy coincidence or they intentionally tried to find someone named Elizabeth to play Vanessa but the pieces are all there

William Afton had a motive for kidnapping Garrett across state lines, it was personal. Mike's mother is Mrs Afton who left William when she was preggo with Mike. They ended up with Henry Schmitt who was William's coworker. The only hint we have of this is the Schmitt family photo where Henry is using rabbit ears on Mike. In the novels it is mentioned that William is insanely jealous of Henry. The enraged William found out the Schmitt's location and traveled to Nebraska to abduct Garrett. 'You took my son so I'm taking yours'. Of course this makes Mike and Vanessa siblings. When Mike asks Vanessa, "Who the hell are you?" she replies, "Just someone who wants to help." This theory would explain a lot.

Holy cow!! This movie was so good! It's like M3GAN, Black Phone, and Willy's Wonderland all beautifully mixed together. I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE a sequel! New elements and all, they did a terrific job adapting the story and the games! Thank you so much for covering the film🙏

as a long fan of you and a longer fan of fnaf, this is really nice to see. not only did you do great research but you did a way better job on actually getting the facts right. if it weren't for you saying you weren't that into the lore i would've thought you atleast dabled in it a bit. so great job and this was really nice to see coming from you especially
  • You ask me, William Afton's probably just as if not more evil than Freddy Krueger, considering he's also a serial killer child murder. But with Freddy, after he's killed someone, their just dead. Afton, though, not only killed children but basically enslaves their ghosts through Freddy & the other amatronics. It is utterly terrifying if you think about it.
