Who can afford it ? My friend's two kids attended private schools. It cost $250,000 for both of them. That doesn't include the cost for sports, travel, or college! Her husband has a great job, but they argue about money all the time!

The world is getting worse by the day, why bring life into this lousy world?

I am a 52-year-old woman who chose not to have kids for many reasons and that is okay just like it's okay to choose to have kids...
  • If you want children, that’s fine have them. But for many people, children are expensive. Plus, you have the added expense of out of control rent, very high food costs, and many people don’t even have a job they can depend on. There’s a lot of gig work out there. That would scare me too. Years ago, people could afford kids, especially in past times when kids were needed to work on a farm…but in this day and time, kids seem to be a luxury. I salute the parents who’ve managed to make it work on a small income, but they seem to be the exception these days.

I respect everyone choice to have or not have children. I have six and enjoy my children but wished I could have explored the world more. To each their own and god bless them all

After learning about the hundreds of dogs killed in shelters each day, it doesn’t seem important enough to have a human child. Dogs are a much better investment than an unruly, ungracious human.

It is time we begin developing the maintainance econony...moving away from our consumer society.
  • I understand why young people don't want to have children. Children are expensive and will get more expensive as the cost of food, utilities, and everything else goes up due to severe weather patterns. The world is overpopulated with humans. We need to get the numbers reduced, and not having children is a bloodless way to do that.

Luke 21:22-23 22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days ! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

Unfortunately it’s the wrong people who are deciding to not have children. (See first 10 minutes of the movie “Idiocracy”).

It would be interesting to know the percentage that avoid having kids out of selfishness. I edited my comment so it's not ambiguous anymore. I believe the world is just getting worse and worse, but it is also true that many people only want to invest time and money on themselves. Just my opinion.

I wish I could, but not having kids was not my decision. My folks made that decision for me.
  • I mean, the proof is right there. Both of those newscasters I would assumed had children. And both of them are childless and don’t look like they really want kids anytime in the future. And the major problem is women have an expiration date when it comes to being able to give birth, so that man might wanna wait until he’s 40, but his partner might not be able to unless he marries someone much younger. The population decline is not really about people not wanting to have kids, it’s about a lot of women waiting too long to have kids and then they don’t have a choice anymore if they can.

I never had a choice; however, I did choose to take part in baby making activities 😂😂😂. I feel like the luckiest dad in the world.
