On March 28th, Chinese technology company Xiaomi announced the launch of their first electric vehicle, the SU7. The standard retail price is less than 220,000 yuan, equivalent to roughly 31 thousand US dollars, undercutting market expectations and signalling an intent to compete with Tesla. However, many people have observed striking resemblances between the SU7 and the Porsche Taycan, not just in appearance but also in the design of the car key and the key battery replacement. Some internet users jokingly suggested renaming the SU7 as "Bao Shi mi," which means Porche Mi, a combined name for Porche and Xiaomi.

In the United States, in the 1960s and 1970s aluminum was used in home wiring for cheapness' sake. Later there were a lot of problem with oxidation and loosening of connectors due to significant expansion/contraction. Afterward, the US went back to copper wire. Using aluminum wire indicates that the manufacturer does not intent the vehicle to last a long time.

Europe should not allow these vehicles to enter the European market. Cars that loose suspension or batteries that catch on fire on a highway are very dangerous to other vehicles on the road

If people are so out of money, why do they spend what little they have left on garbage? Doesn't make any sense!

copy and paste, copying the looks, but left out the quality

Xiaomi made a joke about Apple giving up on making a car.... it turns out that Su7 buyers can only drive 39km more than Apple car buyers 😂.

Calling mobile device with four wheels, big battery and powerful motor as Porsche competitor sounds pretty naive

I do not buy car models unless they have a minimum of 5 years of track record in the segment

You're channel is very valuable, but also very suppressed. Still a lot of thanks for uploading these videos

Xiaomi have long copied phones from other vendors, so it's hardly surprising that they copied the car too. That said, 20 yrs ago TopGear showed Chinese companies doing rip-offs of BMW, etc

what you get from a phone company

Those first-adopter influencers are very naive to believe that the first products off any production-line are going to be flawless!

10:28 Aluminium wiring is a recipe for disaster. I earn extra money by fixing people's car. There are countless number of cases where electrical problems arises from the use of Aluminium, where the connection at the Aluminium got eaten away overtime, while also generate some kind of deposit between the two materials increasing the resistance to a point of open circuit. I mostly found them on French cars (at the rear light cluster) and FIAT.

lol!!! aluminum wire was tried in factory built homes here in the US. It was discovered that the aluminum wire, while the lighter Then copper wire. was so much more brittle, particularly where the connections were made and the aluminum wire cut. to make the conductions, that the wiring was deemed too big of a fire hazard to be used. in these units.. Keep in mind that the units left the factory., were transported down the freeway, and ended their journey at the final site where they were installed. to be permanent homes. If that jostling down the freeway. a bit was enough to cause problems with the aluminum connections., Can you imagine? the kind of difficulties that those aluminum connections are going to have. with the car that's being driven down a highway every day Nova potholes. et cetera..xiaomi Should offer three versions of this car? 1. parked in the garage and never used., 2. special flame paint job 3. The burnt beyond recognition model..
