I'm 59 years old retired, I've lived in both places and my opinion is that in The Philippines you could have a younger Girlfriend 20-30 years old (Arm candy) and don't have to go broke, but in Thailand, the girls that wants to deal with foreigners are more older like 30-45+ years old who already past their prime from their profession (the younger ones would really cost you ). In The Philippines, relationships is possible with women who are more genuine and family oriented., it seem in Thailand that life is faster and women are more about money money money and what you can do for her. So that's my humble opinion.

Enjoy watching Richie and Paul's journey, both channels are informative and positive.
  • I like the way Paul explain his change of life. His sincerity and openness call my attention. His lesson of life find it very valuable.
  • Paul is a real cool dude, I watch his channel all the time. Very interesting guy. Great interview Richie!

I have been watching both of you for quite awhile. I retired a year ago and am heading to Thailand in 2 months. Like Paul I'm looking for a home base and plan on slow traveling around the rest of the world. I will definitely be visiting Maybelle's Coffee Garden!

Both of you guys are an inspiration for me. My retirement goal is still a few years away (not quite ready financially to pull the trigger), but seeing how good life can be in places like Thailand and the Philippines keeps me focused on my grind right now while keeping my eye on the prize. Great content - thank you.
  • What a great interview Ritchie Paul seems so relatable he’s just so honest and really laid back wish I could do what he is doing and we are both the same age .

One thing visitors and expats notice about Thai people is that they are happy and friendly. And that is attributed to them doing what Paul suggested to his former self and that is to live in the moment. On the other hand that also frustrates expats who are so used to planning for the future.

Excellent VIDEO 📹 👏 👍. I have been watching Sir Paul and Baby Mae since the beginning of Old Dog 🐕 New Tricks. Plus watching Baby Mae's channel. They are truly a part of my life now. Paul with his YouTube has helped me make the decision to move to the Philippines 🇵🇭 as soon as it opens up to everyone. Great Video 📹 👍 👏 👌 Stay Safe 💕 💞 🙏 🙏
  • I have my own house in Indonesia and my monthly expenses for everything including my yearly permit to live here is $1100 aus a month.

I love Thailand 🇹🇭 I was married with Thai girl for 4 years but from what I heard in some ways Philippines is cheaper and easier, Thailand has things are not foreigners friendly like the visa situation is very limited; and the way that coming from government no matter if you live in Thailand as foreigner or you visit Thailand I can say almost always most of the time you will pay more, rent, taxis , in most of government places if not all , or national parks, temples, some entertainment places, some restaurants is two prices one for foreigners and one for Thai no matter if you live in Thailand or not, now if you are visiting only Thailand for a short period of time with money to spend that will not bother you much, but if you are retired and lives from a budget it will affects you for sure.

Great vid. Even though i live across the border in Cambodia (recently retired at 55) it makes for interesting viewing to see how guys in PI and Thai are making it work. The locations may be different but so much is similar regarding budgets, relationships, hobbies, health etc. keep up the good work to both Richie, Paul and their significant others.

It’s funny that I became a subscriber of both Paul’s and your channel Ritchie when you both only had around 2000 subscribers , and Paul’s magic attraction is that he is the greatest story teller and he speaks so honestly and is one of the greatest and nicest people on You Tube . Paul is one of the rare few people that can sit on a sofa without any editing what so ever , and you just can’t stop listening to him . Thanks for having him your channel Ritchie as I was hanging for the old dog to travel to Thailand . And finally he did , and I’m sure you would have loved spending time with him and learning a lot from his wisdom and his out look on life . I am jealous of you Ritchie as I hope one day I get to sit and have a coffee or a cold beer with Paul and also yourself . As you are both ripping blokes 😀
  • I have lived in both countries for me its better fun in the Philippines defo
  • @mattlawrence7130
I need to find a place where I can walk most of the time. I know I could do it in Thailand, but I can't seem to find out much about The Philippines. Many of the Thai vloggers do walking tours where you can see everything. When I was there, there were probably 10 places for breakfast within a couple of blocks. A 7-11 every block. Lots of other resources within a short walk. Unfortunately, the heat and humidity were too much for me.
  • But you get Alot of xpats visit Thailand and thats it Thailand the best thing since slice bread but it soon goes soar believe me thais aren't flexabke or open minded at all I find pinoys gentle heartfelt people welcoming they never treat you as an outsider your always part of the family and community
  • Prefare Philippines lots of German and American friends from back in the day in the Philippines we still keep in contact after 14 yrs
  • I have lots of money and I have never in my life thought for one second I am better than anyone else and never look down at anyone never
  • What an awesome guy. Will log on to see baby may. What a great name. Rock on in retirement.
