I feel that if you have that many people in one living situation that you need at least a bath and a half.

My wife and I purchased one of these rigs mid April and had it delivered 2 weeks later (April 28th) to our campground. Ours is up on cinder blocks and has a 26x8 deck in front. So it’s not going anywhere. We have to younger girls (7 and 11) and it works great for us. We’ve also had a total of 8 people staying with us and not once were there “lines” or “problems” with only having 1 bathroom. Plus I’ve made the “long trek” across the rig in the middle of the night and half asleep to use the bathroom with zero issues or concern (with people sleeping on the pullout couch). Plus there’s really no place for a half bath. I’ve seen some people mention the storage area by the spiral stair case. The problem there is the furnace is right behind that storage cabinet. So it’s no where near deep enough to make a half bath. Personally after using this rig for a season so far, we have absolutely no complaints at all and it works great for our family of 4 plus friends and family that stay with us. Just my input as an owner of one for about 6 months now.

I was very surprised that a second bathroom wasn't added, considering the size. It's still very nice.

We have the 2023 model, we’re living in it while building a house. We have four kids, a dog and a cat and it’s working wonderfully for us 😄 I like some of the cosmetic changes. The circular stairs are definitely tricky, our older two sleep on that side and the younger two get the side with the easier stairs. The sink change is really nice. Overall we’re very happy with ours, definitely has the feel of a tiny home.
  • If it had 1 & 1/2 bathrooms we would purchase this in a minute!!! With all the people it can fit you definitely need 1& 1/2 bathrooms!!

In Japan, the elderly walk down stairs backwards to reduce injury. This method would work well for these spiral steps.
  • @janruss3729
Yes. The spiral stairs are hazardous going down. I think I personally would treat it as a ladder and go down backwards.

Beautifully made. Only thing I would change is putting the fireplace in front of the bed. I would have designed it, we’re the Tv and a vertical fireplace underneath came up out of the cabinet in front of the bed. Being able to control it with a remote. It looks dangerous we’re the fireplace is now, too close to the blankets.

The controls are where they are because the motor and lift mechanism is so light duty, you have to be off of the bed before any height changes can be made as per the manufacturer. They put the switch away from the bed to assure you are not on the mattress when raising or lowering the bed. We were even told we couldn't use our residential hybrid mattress that weighs over 100 lbs.

6:32 I love how you open up all the sofas and foldouts, just so everyone gets a look at the walk around space and get a feel on how many people the unit can sleep! Awesome work 😎👍

I lived in the wildwood 2019 grandlodge 42dl for 3 years. And I wish instead of them having a bunk room above the master bedroom, they would just have a master bedroom with 10 foot ceilings. That would be grand.

Appsolutly gorgeous but the furnace next to the bed that close would freak me out. I definitely would catch myself on fore.😱
  • @peggyjean5530
This is so much better than 1 tent for the adults and another one for the 3 kids like we had to do when we went camping. Give me a camper like this one any day.
  • @charlespaluha1247
This was like it was designed for somebody who's getting ready to build a house while they're living on their property
  • @maryowens8763
For an RV this size, there definitely needs to be another bathroom.
  • @stevegordon5243
Beautiful rv! Kind of a drag that the master bedroom is clear at the opposite end of the rv from the bathroom though. And as others mentioned, it would be nice to have a half bath also
  • @KimberlyMills67
I agree about changing the placement of the bed's control panel. 👍

My wife and I have pretty much decided that this is the model into which we want to retire. There is a fifth wheel that we tend to like a little better, but this has almost as much room and is several thousand dollars less expensive. I am not bothered by the low hanging equipment under the drop frame areas front and rear because this will be towed once, placed on a lot, and that's where we intend to leave it. I have a couple of comments vis-à-vis your video review of this model: The steep spiral staircase doesn't bother me. It is VERY steep, as you pointed out, but it really is more of a twisty ladder than a staircase, anyway, so if you think of it in those terms it's not so bad. We intend to make that a storage area and won't be going up and down that ladder too often. You pointed out how low were the "leveling jacks" when you were covering the exterior. Actually, those are stabilizer jacks and are not designed to level the unit. Again, my wife and I will not be dragging this trailer up this road and down the next, so that's not an issue. What IS an issue are the three, separate, sewer connections. That's going to make hooking up extremely awkward. Every other trailer I have looked at (with rare exceptions) has one connection with levers that are pulled to determine from what which tank you intend to empty. On this trailer, every time you wish to dump tanks, you have to make multiple trips outside to move the sewer hose from one connection to another. What a laborious process? I attempted to contact Customer Service for Forest River, but they never got back to me. I really like the new kitchen sink on the 2024. It seems much more convenient for sink-related tasks when preparing meals. I also like the tilting bed feature and I agree that it would make sense to have the controls closer to the bed. It's not a deal-killer, but would be nice if they had wired it that way. Thank you for this video run-through of the 42 View. I really like this model!

That spiral staircase looks really scary! I think someone is going to wind up going through the sliding glass door. The fireplace in the bedroom is hidden and to close to the bedding. Love the size of the bath, but think they should have put at least another half one in somewhere.
  • @bellastone-le9eb
Yes definitely put the bed controls near the bed. The spiral stair case is taking a lot of air space that could be stairs built on storage cubes maybe? It's a nice model. I have a few suggestions but it's super cool with all the windows and step down rooms. Very nice!
