i saw a tweet that said "if Matilda (the movie) taught us anything it's that with enough autism you can move stuff with your mind"
  • @MeleeBro
Danny taping 2 needles together really shows how 5 min crafts has truly educational content. Keep crafting Danny!

The woman who was losing her vision and these people just... Convinced her that se could cure it by doing these stupid holistic training is being so exploited, I seriously hope for the best for her and that she realizes this is just taking advantage of her :(

I can move objects with my mind. I tell my hand to pick something up, then boom, it moved
  • In high school I used to play a game with my friends called "useless superpowers" where you'd take turns coming up with superpowers that had some sort of limitation that made them way less cool. My favorite example: You can summon bears but can't control them. Anyway, I think "you have telekinesis but only on aluminum foil" would have been a strong entry for that game.
  • @ruffaloon
"don't use telekinesis as a tool to fill your insecurities or as a way to think that you are better or more special than other people around you" is literally the main thesis of mob psycho 100
  • I think the kids sort of know it's fake, but they don't say anything because they all think they figured out how to cheat while most others "genuinely" have the power.

I'm bipolar and I get manic delusions that tell me I can do things with my mind that others can not. I once convinced myself I could put out flames with my mind and I almost ended up burning my house down. Please be careful with these things

I find it funny to think the woman is 100% sure that she’s teaching kids to see while blindfolded and every one of the kids believes the other kids are doing it, but they’ve just found an absolutely killer way to cheat the test.
  • @D1Deacon
So crazy how Danny is already so powerful in telekinesis that he can duplicate small objects like circles
  • @zombiegone2073
The thing is, its absolutely possible to learn how to do basically anything blindfolded with enough trial and error. People speedrun entire games blindfolded effortlessly. The difference is they don't do it to scam people, and they definitely do not indoctrinate kids into their scams.
  • I feel bad for those kids. Why're people telling them they have powers? Just let them go to school.
  • @nicolec621
I feel like we need to further address how fucked it is that that lady was giving someone going blind hope that she could see without her eyes. That just feels more cruel
  • @azanasta
Danny has so much dedication for the stupidest and most useless things ever and I respect him for that
  • @hoo7797
The "expose as much skin as possible while practicing mind-sight" seems like a cheat. Like, your skin is a sensory organ, it gathers information through touch. If you're blindfolded and naked, your skin can help you tell your surroundings by just slightly brushing against things.

I'm non-patronizingly impressed that Danny figured out the air current/body heat thing. Nice
  • @freitasgst
When I was a kid, I loved Matilda so much that I literally had some minutes slotted on my day routine to check if I suddenly "got" telekinesis.

That edit at 16:16 was brilliant. You said, “Which makes what happened next… even more f*cked up.” And obviously I was like, “Ooh, what happened next?” And then the second she said that she suffered from a rare disease, I thought, “OOOH, I see where this was going,” and immediately it cut to your face like, “Yeah? You see where this is going?” It was the most interactive I have ever felt in a YouTube video lol like your face was directly responding to my realization. Amazing work

This honestly reminds me of when i thought shifting was a real thing, when its actually just a bunch of teenagers saying random bullshit. I was in a bad place mentally, so the idea of being able to run away to whatever world i thought would be better sounded great on paper. Then of course you learn its a bunch of bullshit after humiliating yourself for about two weeks trying to do it. I was sad that i wasted all of my time doing something just to learn it wouldn't change anything, but it did also teach me a lesson on trying to find better ways of coping. These types of things are either kids just trying to have fun by pretending theyre magic, or teens and adults being assholes to people more vulnerable than them by making them believe in things that ultimately hold no merit.
