the only thing I didn’t like about this movie is the ending, the whole town just was like, “eh.” and moved on, and we were so like- built up that this town HATES sea creatures- and it just doesn’t make a lot of sense.

there’s literally a whole training section of luca riding a bike wdym he’s suddenly good 😭😭

Luca's character design is just so cute, I cannot handle it, this kid is too precious, it's going to give me a heart attack.
  • I honestly liked how simple this movie was... no big stakes... no complex villain... no deep life lessons just... just life man 😎

I kinda like these types of movies where there’s no real objective and it’s just some kids interacting with their surroundings

I wish they pushed this in theatres. That was the intent of the animators and it kinda sucks that I had to watch it at home :/

Personally, I liken this movie to Studio Ghibli's Ponyo. Ponyo is also fish out of water story about friendship. Its story also feels aimless at times and is colorful. I also find that the voice acting in Ponyo is great like Luca!
  • in the movie, luca is taking care of the fish and one spits out baby fish, he then says to another fish “I told you not to do that” or something am i the only one who understood that

3:31 i died at this part (not the movie but your voice just, lol)
  • Apart from the soundtrack and the characters, my favorite aspect about this film is it's simplicity. The director gives the audience a very, very broad idea of what the theme is, but leaves it there. It does what all good art should do in my opinion, give the onlooker the tools to form their own relevant message about the story. Whether you think its a story about coming out as gay, or trans, or about immigrants or refugees, neither the director nor the film directly say "no, it cant be meaning A because it already holds meaning B" It lets the audience do some of the legwork and thats really refreshing to see, especially after no less than half a decade of the almost polar opposite in storytelling, with some films taking you out of the story to just lecture you about events that chances are, you've already seen in the news and already formed your opinions about (looking at you blackkklansman, cough cough) Overall, i haven't been following pixar's films for quite a few years now, but this movie has me eagerly waiting to see what comes next for both Pixar, and Enrico Casarosa.

Only way they save this is by doing a sequel where its all lucas school adventures then Alberto shows up at the end as a new student somehow
  • @Clairemoss88
That part when Luca betrayed Alberto I guess Luca became the imposter of the series
  • @EpicStickboi
I thought the movie was good. The pacing was my biggest problem.

Amazing movie, amazing story, amazing feel, amazing drug scen… I mean dreams 69/70 I mean 10/10
  • Luca is a such a good movie, never get tired of it. To the visuals and the character writing, I just love it. I really wished it came out in theaters but then again I did have a good time when it came out on Disney+. The bittersweet ending was so great, I never fail to cry. The drawings during the credits are a nice touch for the aftermath of it all. Overall, one of my favorite Pixar movies.

Honestly, the look of the movie actually lured me into watching it, and I’m not disappointed.
