The office of the first lady ! ! ! What is this? His Excellency the President of the Republic's wife (First Lady in short) has transformed this office.

The role, First Lady has never been well defined but from the history of First Ladies from around the world, it is left with the individual's ability and desire to contribute and see impact to the people and country. A quick glance at the Sierra Leone constitution revealed nothing.
There is no mention of the title or role. No job description and no person specification. It is therefore an extension of the role of the president?.

So, because there's no job description, a first lady is free to make the role anything she would want. Our First Lady chooses to "stick to the knitting".

The First Lady of Sierra Leone, Mrs Sia Nyama Koroma utilised her strengths in transforming this role and office into a comprehensive, versatile department: In complementing her husband, the President, she curved out a number of titles. She became
1) The mother to the motherless,
2) A leader, working tirelessly in the drive to maximizing women's contribution to national development
3) The Lead Nurse of the nation
4) The head Chemist of the poor

So, in effect, she has transformed this office for ever. Only the APC can so cleanly perform in such a way because everything is simply coming from the hearts and the desire is transform this nation to a competitive force in relative terms.
Key themes in the First Lady's office operational activities include the following:
a) Health for the vulnerable
b) FLAC (First Lady Attitudinal Change) System

The goals are to emphasize women's reproductive health issues; push for women leadership and entrepreneurship roles in society; campaign and promote the importance of welfare for women and children and how these will impact standard of living and national development in the near, medium and long term; the office also promotes and advocates for a shift in prioritization of issues to do with the poor and weakest in society.

What a noble course, Thank you First Lady, Long live the APC, Long Live Sierra Leone and its Peoples.
