I worked at Sega of America from 1993–95 and lived through the rise and fall... fairly accurate depiction of those times. Well done.
  • @pedrosvlog1183
Sega of America put them on the map and they hated it , Sega of Japan and their pride killed them.
  • "This led instead to the N64." Okay. "This led instead to the PS." Ouch. "This led instead to the XBox." I'm doubled over.

So Basically Tom came and invented Sonic and revolutionized the company, and was pushing to buy consoles that would eventually become the PlayStation and the N64. But SEGA Japan was like "No we're good."

Sega lived fast, but died hard.

3 things 1. Saturn surprised launch 2. Too many add-ons 3. Sega of japan decline to work with Sony

I can sum up this entire video in 3 words "that's no good"

Say what you will about Sega, but you can't deny the awesomeness of their commercials.

dreamcast had such a good library of games. just no dvd player. a dvd player ended the console wars. ironic

The story of sega is almost like the story of the man who died in a flood. The waters began rising. A family drove by his house and offered him a ride. He said “no, god will save me.” So they left. A while later his yard was flooded. A man in a fishing boat passed by and said “hey get in!” “No no, god will save me” he replied. By now the man was sitting on the roof of his now flooded house. A helicopter flew by and the pilot yelled “hey, get in!” And of course the man declined. He died that day. When he stood before god at the pearly gates he said “God, why didn’t you save me?” “You idiot” God replied. “I sent help your way three times and three times you refused.”

I’d like to see you do a video on why you think Warner Bros has failed to keep Looney Tunes relevant today while Disney still keeps Mickey and friends as well known as they were in the past. I’m currently watching Space Jam with my 3 year old and it’s weird to think she has no idea who these characters are since they are never seen anymore!

SEGA was a bit too arrogant with their success in competing with Nintendo. That's what led to it's downfall.
  • @mikekazz5353
Nintendo: um it's not what it looks like. Sony: oh yeah then what's with all these empty disc cases doing on the ground Phillips: trying to sneak out the window Nintendo: but I- Sony: sorry can't hear you I don't listen to harlots.

"Sega missed out on both the n64 and the playstation." I hope those japanese executives at sega japan committed sepuku for such a colossal failure....
