I use bookmark for maps and glossary, that sort of thing. Makes it easy to flip back and forth between where you are in the book and looking at the map or glossary.
  • Lol the people who said “buy a watch” must not be night readers. Sorry but when I’m checking the time it’s not because it’s noon and daylight out, it’s because it’s 2:00 Am and I’m reading in the dark, and I need to know how bad I messed up. Honestly reaching over to look at my phone when my phone brightness is probably 100% also not a good idea at that time. 😅 3:14

If anyone is wondering where “Device Cover” setting has gone, it is now under “Screen and brightness” and not under “Device options” anymore.

If Amazon declines removing the ads for free you can tell them that some of the titles were disturbing and you have kids that see your kindle
  • #25 worked for me a few weeks ago no questions asked. I was just sure to give the employee a good rating to help them out a little bit too.
  • My favorite Kindle "trick" isn't really a trick at all I guess, but an add on device. I love having the remote page turner for my kindle for when I am huddled under a blanket.
  • @Evzen.
I got a Kindle for Christmas last month, and your videos have been really helpful for me😁

Chatting with an Amazon rep to remove my ads worked! I did it within the Amazon app without a problem. Thanks so much for these tips!

I read a lot of classic literature, and Wordwise has come in handy: I'm not constantly looking up archaic words.
  • Thank you so much. I did not know about Alexa reading. I love audio books but the subscription is ridiculous. So this is great.
  • You can also adjust the margins. I have my margins really indented so that way I can connect my kindle clicker. Which if you haven’t purchased the clicker, then that’s a game changer.
  • It worked for me. I have the ad free version and now! I can see the cover the book I’m reading now too. Thanks!

The pinching to change font size is nice to know. Sometimes I like to change sizes and it is pretty cumbersome to click so many times just to change the font size (first world problems I know lol)
  • @Tams842
Wow about the Alexa app! This will be great for my intellectually disabled son.. he loves reading but struggles a lot, so being able to turn any of his books into audio books is amazing 😊 Ty for the info
  • @abutler7569
Lots of good information. I put my books into collections by favorites, samples to purchase later, books I own, and a few other categories. Thanks for sharing.

Great video. I’m a new kindle user and you have neatly outlined all (or, at least many) of the different features. Thanks!

Thanks for these handy tips. I've just revived my Kindle from its home on the shelves. Time for some serious reading while on holiday/vacation. "Show covers on lock screen" - has been moved on the Kindle Paperwhite software version 5.16.8. To get to it you should do the following. To display the book cover on the lock screen of a Kindle Paperwhite, you typically go to Settings -> Screen and brightness -> Show covers on lock screen and ensure this option is checked
