Moral of the story, if your mother calls you no matter what, go and see what's up
  • She never knew about the grades but she knew he'd be somebody someday

This is one of the rawest stories in all of comedy. Everyone knows that we use comedy to help cope with hard parts of life, and Joey using that to not only make us laugh but also give us valuable advice is extremely humbling. Thank you.

Man I had a wide ass permanent smile from all the laughing before he dropped that bomb about his mother. Jesus Christ the line between comedy and tragedy is thin AF. RIP Jose Antonios mother

His mother calling his name toward the end is a profound mystery which is unaddressed. She might have been calling him to talk as usual, or calling for him to help with whatever it was that caused her death; or perhaps her calling was his hallucination on the acid [she was already dead]. This is one of those stories that lives right on the edge of tragedy and comedy. It could be told with almost all the same scenes and word choices as a tragedy, the difference is his attitude. Amazing. [edited for clarity]

Wow this hit close to home. Literally a few days ago my mom yelled my name around 6 am. It managed to barely wake me up. I was going to ignore it and go back to sleep, but i went downstairs anyways. As i was going downstairs i found my mom lying on the floor barely able to speak or move. I managed to treat her and give her help. Shes fine now, it was probably caused by low blood pressure I wonder how things would’ve gone if i chose to sleep

Almost every episode of Joey's this is not happening, made me laugh like an idiot and reflect the decision I made in my life at the same time. This man is a magician.

I heard him tell this story awhile back. The tears of laughter became tears of sadness. This man is a poet that heals souls with laughter. All his tories have a meaning it’s not just for laughter it’s chicken soup for the soul.

Psychedelic therapy is just one of those great leaps in the mental health space . It's wonderful and the fact that they serve recreational use and health as well. I can't deny tripping is fun every once in a while
  • Hard laughs and that epic silence after he explains the reason he doesn't lie. Joey is a fucking healer dude. Respect.
  • Even when she passed, she made sure her son’s light was turned off for good sleep ❤️❤️🙏🏼 RIP
  • I legit spit out my water when he said “I was consumed by dry humping” 😂😂

The way he talks about his mom dying really resonates with me. My mom died in her sleep when I was 23. The last interaction I had with her I was making a sandwich and she asked me to leave the stuff out and I made my sandwich real fast so I wouldn't have to put the stuff away and she called me a Jew and laughed. We said I love you a lot but I don't remember if I said it before I walked into my bedroom that night. Im about to cry.
  • @YakuiMeido
One ten minute joke, with his moms death as the punchline... This might be the greatest joke ever told.
  • @balipan09
Man that must take a lot of balls to tell a story like that. I love you Joey. ❤️
