Shane Dawson has been a YouTube creator since 2008, at one point garnering 40 million views per video. Due to the often offensive nature of his comedy, he has ridden many ups and downs of scandal, controversy and success. He doesn't do a lot of podcasts, and we were honored to have this compassionate conversation with him.

these are the two people who i NEVER thought would meet each other. let alone know each other

I feel like Steve-O of all people understands building an entire career based purely off of shock factor and polarized opinions. This was the episode I never knew I needed. ❤
  • If Shane would hang out with people like these 2 more often I think he'd be in a good place. People who don't let him make awkward jokes to try to laugh things off, people who ask direct questions & offer good insight, people who let the uncomfortable moments just be uncomfortable... that's what Shane needs a lot more of in his life.
  • I feel like steveo was the best person for Shane to open up to and have hard conversations about mistakes and regret.
  • @keighhht
Scott was MVP in this. The compassion that was needed for this conversation was a nice change when it comes to Shane. People need the space to grow after all the shame.
  • Shane and Jenna Marbles are the reason I started watching YouTube. Love them both
  • @Jay-jw2xr
As someone who basically grew up on these guys, I am literally screaming. Best crossover I've seen in a while.
  • Everyone on this podcast has one hell of a past. I'm so happy that you had Shane on and gave him the advice that you did.
  • He was the biggest YouTuber for years everyone loved him knowing damn well how he started out making offensive jokes and they still loved him until it was trendy to hate him. I've always stood by him I know he's a good person and never meant to hurt anyone with his comedy
  • Honestly listening to Shane say he feels like he is a cancer to someone is heartbreaking. People ask for change and should ALLOW that change. Some amazing people have come from and out of the worst situations they have ever been in and or done. Support those ppl. The ones that WANT to change and have changed and grown. Otherwise people will never realize the errors of their ways. Hate breeds hate. Luv u Shane. Keep growing and being the best you you can be.

Shane never deserved the amount of hatred that he endured. We’re seriously lucky he’s still present today. He battled through the hell of society. I adore Shane and am so happy you guys gave him a voice.

Scott has easily become my favorite co host! He's such a contributing factor to this podcast, especially when it comes to meaningful and spiritual conversations, he's an absolutely joy too listen to. 🙏 Besides that, I think this podcast and talk was EXACTLY what Shane needed. Thanks Steve-O for becoming the person that you are! ❤️

I like that Steveo is actually asking him questions directly in a nice way

This was a legit therapy session, thanks guys, I honestly learned a lot and self reflected

I'm so happy that Shane found sense and logic and a positive side in what happened to him. He literally was the first youtuber I ever watched! He became an adult but his personality never changed! I always felt like he's a sibling to me or something. It's always good to see people do better.
  • 4:40 like damn, he is so fucking petrified of saying the wrong thing. It makes me really sick that people went way too far with him.
  • @xirroh4008
Knowing his past. Seeing wendy react. I get why people see him as a radioactive person. Shitty or not this feels uncomfortably genuine. Feels like we get to see him beyond the camera.
  • Steve-o "idk, maybe its empathy" awww good for you for even trying. Seeing a group of men discussing emotions together while being supportive and not ridiculing you know... it's really peaceful and it makes me hopeful. ❤
  • @kitslynne988
Just want you to know Shane, I care about you and hope that you're doing well. I used to watch your old videos and the make up ones. I think it's unfortunate that not everybody sees you as the person you are. You deserve joy and love in your life and I wish you the best in whatever that looks like.
