There is one thing you didnt mention. As a father of 3 that what you change in my mindset goes through me to my kids. So this tripples. Greetings from Oberbayern

The best way to improve yourself is to start a podcast or write a book giving people emotional cultural truisms that make them feel inspired briefly as though they are going to improve their lives. Collect money and use that money to improve your life.

Adam shows a stunning lack of comprehension on the workforce reduction at twitter. It was not a simple downsizing. It was an aggressive purge of people actively thwarting and sabotaging the owner’s direction.

I love that Tom is willing to say 'i'm gonna to make a moral judgement - you SHOULD do x,y,z'. I think we're living in a weird time where we're afraid to strike back at the notion that everything is equally ok. Its NOT! Being fitter is better than being fatter. Having useful skills that help you support your family is better than having skills that don't help you support your family. There is a hierarchy and some things are worse and i think we should (kindly) point these things out.
  • Hayek, in "The Road to Serfdom," wrote a chapter titled "Why the Worst Get on Top." It explains everything about the evils of centralized power, especially why it's evil..

People presenting as professionals/experts use their own perceptions of their lives as reality. Totally dangerous!

Whelp, I guess we're finally out of the "crush your goals" phase. Now it's on to "un-f*ck" being the title of every fucking video on the planet.

Tom, at 11:19 you mention Warren Buffett "still going" in his eighties. It's even better and more impressive than that. Mr. Buffett was born in 1930. He is 93 years old. His business partner, Charlie Munger, recently passed away at age 99, just a month shy of his 100th birthday.

4:22 Power is power and agency is agency. They are not the same. Power is strength, agency is self control

“Have you ever been to Morning Star, the tomato paste plant in Northern California?” Is going to be my new conversation ice breaker
  • @joryiansmith
Very interesting conversation, thank you Tom and Adam 🙏

“Let’s map that out.” = explain your thinking because I think I disagree. What great skill to come to better understanding.

Hustle? Strive? Work hard and smarter? I'm competing with you? No, I'm really not. You can have it. All of it, if that's your game. I want less, not more. Want to show me how to unf*ck my life? Don't tell me what I need to do to beat the system. Show me how to flip it the bird and walk away from it.
  • First of Tom's conversations I had to change halfway through. I love this show for its ability to navigate through ideological bullshit. Seems in this instance at least, the guests load surpassed the shows ability to compensate for.

Way to end the year Tom! Although wish you interacted with the masses more than the occassional escape!

100 % agree that most self-help advice is toxic . Instead of wasting time on positive thinking , affirmations , belief , Secret, start focusing on going direct to your behavior and start working on getting good daily habits.. If your desire is to manifest your goal, then you first need to specify it in great detail then ask yourself : What kind of habits the person who achieves this goal would have and what kind of skills would this person have ? Now, those become the road map ( Getting the right habits implemented in your life and getting the skillset for that particular goal that you have outlined in great detail ) ..Thinking alone, thoughts are not good enough ..Set the thinking side, set the positive thoughts positive affirmations and the idea that I believe in myself I can do anything attidue aside, and go direct into changing your behavior through getting good daily habits and the right skillset.. Thank me later : )
