Emily Sisson's Race Shoe History | From the RC5000 to the SC Pacer v2!!

Published 2024-06-13
From American Records to Olympic Teams, Em Sisson has had quite the run over the past few years! But with stack heights trending higher and higher, Em has proven you don't need max cushioning to have max results. Starting off her career with shoes like the RC5000 and 1400, then transitioning to lower profile super shoes like the SC Pacer v1, and now using the PEBA powered SC Pacer v2, Em has always liked a shoe with a little less foam underfoot for increased weight savings and a more nimble ride.

The New Balance SC Pacer v2 is available for Pre-Sale now at Running Warehouse!!

New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Trainer v3 First Run Review

For me personally, in this transition from low profile shoes with a firm midsole to the current ones, NB got lost by prioritizing comfort in all its models to the detriment of performance. That a shoe with the proposal and objective of an NB 1080, for example, prioritizes comfort and cushioning makes perfect sense. But when the same degree of softness in the midsole is also used in a model like the Rebel or the Elite v3 ou v4 with a plate, which should prioritize performance, it becomes clear that something is wrong. And the performance of these models mentioned in comparison to some competitors makes this clear. It may not be noticeable to many short-distance runners or to those who think they can draw big conclusions about performance and energy return from a few short sprints. But for effective use in medium and long distance races, NB's current models are guaranteed to perform well below what can be achieved with shoes with firmer and more responsive midsoles.Unfortunately in this new pacer model, nothing seems to have changed and no enhancement in the firmness of this sole has been commented.

They keep associating Em with the V2 but she doesn’t wear it. She’s still racing in v1, if v2 was that good she’d be racing in it.
  • I watched the whole video and I can't tell what this new shoe does or what it is in the end.
  • The most interesting thing about this video is that someone is wearing pyjamas. So many words, so few details.

🎉🎉🎉 God bless here, and God bless you at New Balance for building some lower stach height shoes, because most of everything else out there is too high 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Hello, do you have an international shipment to Colombia? Thanks.
  • Does this have the last from the rebel, SC Elite, or is it different than both?
  • I've run and raced in 1400s and Pacer v1s. What is the stack height of the SC Pacer v2? I hope it hasnt grown higher. It looks a little chunky.
