I had an existential crisis when Steven grabbed Connie's shirt.

Headcanon: Steven's angry outbursts caused him to hurt others leading to Steven seeing himself as some corrupted fusion of himself and his mother. Regretting the loss of his former self he decides to end Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz once and for all. Connie refuses to help him as it would mean Steven would be destroyed as well.

She proceeds to effect his life even after their eventual break-off, and after years of torment from her, he decides enough is enough and lashes out- going out in Hollywood to beat her at her own game. Christie being a close friend to Callison and trying to support him, now telling him this isn't the way. Now let's replace some names and change it up: Original Album = Steven Universe's Trauma Callison = Steven breakup = stress Jaunita = Rose Quartz Hollywood = Diamonds(?) IDK Christie = Connie HHHHMMMMM...
