  • The color aspect is so true. The other day I wore my standard white flared pants, matched them with a black top and threw a bright red Blazer on top. I wore matching red ballerinas, too. The amount of stares I got?! INSANE. I never tried colors because I thought it'll be too childish. But actually... it made me embrace my feminine side and my flexibility!❤ ADD. MORE. COLOR!
  • I love wearing shirts and just wearing a bit of makeup and doing your hair makes the world of difference. 🙂
  • @mcd5478
Yes. FABRIC is key to comfort ❤
  • I agree with what you’re saying. In the 60s, 70s, and 80, women in the US use to do all these things. When I went to public school, all the girls would wear makeup and jewelry everyday. In our school we wear not allowed to wear jeans. We all wore nice clothes, whether it was a dress or pants suit. We also did not wear sneakers. We took sneakers for PE and then changed back into our dress clothes after gym.

Anna I don't know what you've been doing lately but you look better than ever!
  • Haha , I am wearing an outfit similar to Anna and having afternoon lunch. I feel like I have reached the pinnacle of elegance.
  • I love shirts, too, I really like the collars, they bring the eye up to, and frame, the face. I like the collared Polo knit tops, too, for the same reason and they look nicer than plaint t-shirts, but are just as comfy.
  • Anna, I just love to hear you talk about any topic. There are some years I watch your channel, and it's always so easy to understand (English is my second language). Also, I'll try to do something about my messy hair
  • I have been following you for about 5 years ! I learned a lot and I see my life changing !! To the point I just watch your videos because I love you and I find it fun ❤️ thank you for the free YouTube videos ! I wonder what’s even going more in the courses you gave to the lucky girls 🎉👻

My mother used to say "we can't afford to wear cheap clothes...they make us look common. We are poor people but we don't want to look poor." So we had fewer clothes than most but we had better clothes and they lasted longer. My mother and grandmother and mother designed and sewed men's jackets as my grandmother learned from her mother in the 19th century. We wore lots of what people now call "button down" shirts (some of these are actually button-ups). Button-down shirts have a collar that is buttoned down, how it got its name. The shirts Anna is showing are called "button-ups." My mother and grandmother designed and sewed. They were held in high regard by the very elite. My daughter, so admired her ancestry, that became a fashion designer, working for a designer right out of college. Clunky platform shoes look mannish. It takes down the classic outfit by several notches. If women just "have to wear sneaks," they should look feminine and classic. We were always beacons of fashion. We were poor to middle class but dressed like we had money because our family learned and we were tailors and tilers, an artform brought from Europe by our ancestors. Our fabrics: silks, woolens, gabardines, jacquards, faille, brocades, velvets (velvetine), flax (linen), refined cottons, rayon, cashmere, corduroy (wide and fine wale). Our apparel was often tucked/welted, trimmed of velvet ribbons and lace.

I love button up shirt. With jeans. My daily uniform. Takes the complexity out of the decision making process of what to wear.
  • @davidellis5141
Love the casual looks Anna 😊 ! You have such good taste.
  • @kimholcomb6943
I love wearing Oxford shirts tailored for women. I have one in pink, and while and blue.
  • I love this new style of videos that you are releasing! You give great advice but keeping it down to earth and humble. Thanks so much!❤

My favourite casual shoes to wear in summer are loafers in perforated leather. They look more put together than sneakers and the holes in the leather are usually in pretty patterns and really do keep your feet cool. They are everywhere in Australia because in summer it really does get too hot for sneakers.

Very good points! The hardest part is finding the clothes that I need. Almost no natural fiber clothes are available, in any style or color. Please do a vid on where to get good quality casual clothes.
  • @rosehatter2
in the 1980's the large shirt over a shell top was in style and yes it was a great look so I am happy to see it back in style again!! YAY!

One way I like to elevate a casual outfit is to wear a short-sleeve, fine gauge sweater instead of a t-shirt. It’s so comfy and looks so much more stylish than a plain tee. It looks amazing with a little bit of jewelry, too. I live in Phoenix, AZ and I wear this even in summer. It has to be short-sleeved, though!

I’m glad you add more choices. Couple years ago, your videos said stay with natural to look expensive and elevated.
