“He was never too big for anyone” so true. A literal giant with a heart of gold. When he was in school he would attend the church my parents went to occasionally with his roommate, walk on Travis Stephenson, and he Always had time to play ball or sign stuff for us kids. I still have a picture of him holding me up to dunk when I was like 7/8. Once I sheepishly asked him to sign my hat and he did, and the next time he came to church he brought me a ball signed by the whole team. He would then recognize me and my buddies for years and years, even introducing us to woody and current players at a few games. Absolute legend.

I will forever remember the "Bloody Montross" game. Just a different kind of dude that they needed to hang another banner. Rest easy, Eric🙏

Eric a role player on the greatest team composed entirely of role players ever to take a basketball court... They had exceptional qualities: Lynch 's Leadership, Montross 's solid dependability, the Donald Williams'.shooting, Phelps defense, Reese's passing, especially to the post, And the bench's versatility. But thy were without superstars. So Role On Eric. Praying for your family, friends and loved ones, including the entire Carolina family

Eric Montross seemed to be one of the kindest most professional upstanding basketball players and people ever within the carolina family. I always felt like maybe Eric had a positive place on the sidelines or behind the scenes. I will always remember that 93 championship team. No stars, just a bunch of scrappy upperclassmen led by a legendary coach. Montross was a class act gone way too soon. 00 will always be remembered and missed. Prayers to his family.
