One of my classmates in garde 6, sang this song for our school talent show, and she has an amazing voice and it is so loud that during the dress rehearsal, they told her she needs to use the Mic but she doesn't need it, cause she proved to them that her voice is loud enough for the talent show

One reason I like this song (not just because of the movie) is because I am very soft spoken and it gets very frustrating when other people try talking over me, unintentionally or otherwise. I've gotten more assertive lately, but still, my speaking level is always at library level.

What a great song.! I am from one of the last generation of people who think little girls should be quiet and obedient and never have an opinion of their own. I could have used this song back in the 50's. Of course, now I am a 73 year old rebel, doing comicons and selling my soft sculpture dragons. I am the oldest nerd there and you know what? I am accepted and loved and no one tells me to shut up. Whoever wrote this song is my hero. .You can out live your tormentors. I am proof. Never give up.

I sang this song for my third grade talent show, and after, I got bored of this song. But now I realize that I can relate it, because my family never let me speak up for myself, they forced things on me, but now I feel free, and now I have the power to speak up for myself, and not let anybody bring me down.

I love this song because it relates to my life. People tell me to be silent or stop talking but than all I can’t to do is sing this song in front of them to let them know that I won’t be silent. Edit: OMG TY SO MUCH FOR ALL THESE LIKES!!!!!!! Im so glad you all understand what I mean!

One reason I love this song is because I relate to the lyrics (prolly not the meaning but the lyrics deffinantly) when I first heard it I was in a abusive household, when I got out I was defiant and when I listened to the lyrics better, I found out I relate to the lyrics like “ try to lock me in this cage I won’t just lay me down and die!” Reminds me of how I’d be locked in my room for days or even weeks.
