Contestants lose $800,000 on correct answer

Apart from the technicality that the product originally was sold under the name "Press & Peel" (which would be a stretch even if the category were "brands" instead of "inventions"), "C" was the correct answer. Therefore, the contestants should have lost only $80,000 (not $800,000) on the question.

THEY WERE ROBBED.......they had the right answer........These people should have sued the FUCK out of this show!
-
What's even more fucked up is, if they had put all their money on Walkman instead, the show probably would have found out that was the incorrect answer in post, and taken the money back. They lose either way....
-
They should sue the person who did research for this show. Holy shit. They were wrong by like 4 years...
-
They should've sued.

Yes they were robbed. I remember buying post-it-note before Sony sold the Walkman.

They will probably never want to see a post-it note ever again.

What amazes me about this is that, even though the man adamantly put almost all the money into the post-it note and lost it (even though he should have gotten it), his girlfriend didn't berate him at the end and throw a fit of rage, but instead comforted him and showed optimism about the money that they did win. That right there is a wonderful sight and a true testament to what humanity can offer.

The dude was right!! Fox was wrong ... In an embarrassing about-face, the show’s producers acknowledged on Thursday that they had “incomplete information” about the history of Post-it Notes, and they invited Mr. Okoye and Ms. Mayti back to try again. They did not, however, return the $800,000. The couple said they harbored no grudge toward Fox, and had not decided whether to accept the invitation. “To go through that again — maybe to lose again — that’s a lot of stress,” Mr. Okoye said by telephone Thursday night.
