STREAMING LATER TO ANALYZE THE VIDEO www.twitch.tv/mythrodak

An escape artist can break out of prisons, but only an escape mastermind can escape themselves.
-
I like how this mirrors greek myths, in that when plumpkin was presented with a prophecy about mythrodak, in his quest to prevent it, he instead is the entire cause behind the prophecy coming to fruition, much like with oedipus, who was told that he would kill his father and marry his mother, and, in his efforts to prevent this from happening, unknowingly kills his father and marries his mother.
-
“You may want to cover your ears” *casually breaks the fabric of reality*
-
Minecraft doesn’t even look and feel like the same game anymore while watching Mythrodak’s videos, it just feels like a completely different cinematic universe with its own narrative.
-
literally the only thing i can process is the fact that it's everyone's fear of the prophecy that makes it come true. the imprisonments, the constant fighting, the threats given to those around them - it's meant to stop the prophecy, but it looks like it's only encouraging it.
-
It would seem Mythrodak is leaning into the old Greek Mythology trope of “the more you struggle against fate, the closer you bring fate into becoming reality.”
-
A cinematic masterpiece worth crying for 🥲

During the tear, at 6:29 (rewind 5 seconds and go frame by frame) there is - for one frame - a splash of text which appears to be a substitution cipher. I decoded it, and here's what I got. “Journal entry no.2 Hello, I hope you are doing well journal. As of two days ago, I have sustained quite the injury, from the travelling from my previous world to this resting place. I feel like I've been ripped apart and put back together, it does not heal anymore. It is not unpleasant, however the right side of my white dress has been soaked with red, I cannot tell where the blood starts and the flowers end. I'm fine though. I will be more careful, and I will try a different method of breaking through the wall. I'm afraid if I sustain another injury like that I will be torn beyond repair. But for now I shall rest here, and wait for my strength to come back to try and make a new home. This time I will not let it end poorly. I suppose I will talk to you later, journal.” I came to this solution because of the repeated single K’s throughout the original text; I assumed it was meant to be “I.” Upon trying, I noticed that the letter K was two letters ahead of the I in the English alphabet. “...H, I, J, K, L…” So because of this, I assumed it was a two spot forward shift, and low and behold, I got a cohesive batch of text. This is by FAR the best work you have ever made, and this just proved that. Such a clever way to give massive lore dumps. Mythro, if you are reading this, take these words of mine to heart. YOU ARE A LEGEND

this is unbelievably well made. I cannot believe my eyes right now. Some of the best minecraft content of all time right here!
-
The production on this video is out of this world. Youtube doesnt deserve you. I literally clapped after "the tear" it was that good.
-
I love that this started as just escaping a prison, then it turned into an arms race, and now it's a ridiculously detailed storyline complete with world building, deep complex backstories, and awesomeness to boot
-
with mythro's calm but intense voice, i imagine him as always having his eyes very wide open, barely blinking, and having very minimal body movements. imagining the sven scene with that in mind makes it a lot cooler.
-
Mythrodak has returned with the greatest storyline of Minecraft.
-
The fact that the fights were unscripted adds a lot actually, it shows how good mythro actually is.
-
from slightly laggy prison escapes, to a full on, never before seen story line. This truly is a better lore line then the whole of the Dream SMP
-
This series went from breaking out of Minecraft prisons to a story with plot, character depth, and a complex storyline with just a touch of insanity, its honestly a feat in the community and I look forward to the next upload
-
y'know, for a guy who's propheciesed to "kill everyone" and is currently enacting his revenge arc, mythrodak is still somehow one of the most morally correct characters in this series, like even the regular guards are spiteful, hypocritical jerks who blame mythrodak for guards being left stuck in old prisons, which they made, to hold mythrodak, for the crime of being someone claiming that he'll "kill everyone" which is really vague in itself. And honestly, that's really cool imo, since we can see their plans keep getting bigger and bigger in their attempt to stop the prophecy, while we, being the viewers, can tell they're literally bringing it about
-
this is one of the best minecraft videos to exist on the internet. there is no debate.
-
I'm going to be honest, this is one of the best written series in a long time. Not just in the Minecraft community, but as a series in general, for one reason. It tells the story from the perspective of the villain. Mythrodak may be the protagonist, but she is a villainous protagonist (protagonist means the main character, not hero). Mythrodak started as simply the protagonist, not villain. Plumpkin intervening did indeed set in motion the prophecy, and you can levy blame on Plumpkin, but that would immediately be forgetting the prophecy that has been set in motion. The first prisons were built to capture Mythrodak to prevent the prophecy. They in turn began telling the prophecy, and the events at Gaia's Vault was what finished it. When Shiratori was killed, the prophecy became inevitable. Mythrodak had unavoidably become the villain. Hints of this were directly seen in Ares Vault. She did not need to kill those inside, but she did it to "teach them a lesson". To send a message. Her escape wasn't enough, she had to hurt people. Sound like something a hero or even an anti-hero would be doing? Those were just hints of the future. Sven was never the villain. From the beginning, he only wanted to escape the Pit. When Mythrodak killed Chase, Sven hated Mythrodak. You might say "it was an accident", but does that change what happened? No it doesn't. Sven is the heroic antagonist (antagonist being someone who is against the antagonist. Heroes could be considered both protagonists and antagonists; it only depends which perspective the story is being told from). He is trying to prevent Mythrodak from doing to others what he did to Chase. Plumpkin is technically also a heroic antagonist now, although it is ironically his actions that led to the prophecy beginning in the first place. Plumpkin's goals were always morally correct, and therefore he was never the villain. To prevent the mass genocide that Mythrodak was prophesized to induce. Villain - Person who's aims/goals are morally wrong. Hero - Person who's aims/goals are morally right. Protagonist - The main character/the person we see the viewpoint of. Antagonist - Someone who is against the protagonist (this can be a hero against a villain just as it can be a villain against a hero). Edit: I have fixed the pronouns in the comment now. In this comment, when I use the name Mythrodak, I am talking about a character in a story. Mythrodak is now and forever will be dead in every way. The story was created by Ivory, who has her own channel that you should all sub to.
